Guest low-end
I am a professional musician. I play in a secular band that is regionally very popular. My profession takes me to cities all over the US. We play mostly in bars and theatres. Recent events have brought the faith of myself and my wife to new heights. I am just wondering if I can be a good christian and still play in this band. Please help.

But if you need some perspectives to help, here are some points to consider: What message does your band give? (What are the songs about?) Are they contrary to Scripture? How much of a temptation is the non-Christian lifestyle - especially what you would find in bars - to you? Is their non-Christian influence having a greater impact on you than your Christian influence is having on them? Or are you affecting them for the glory of the LORD? Are you being salt and light in and through this band? How is your marriage holding up with you touring? But really, ask the LORD for clarity of direction, even for words and circumstances to be given you that would speak to your understanding of what would please Him for you to do. OK? Turn to him in prayer for the answers you seek. Keep in mind that the surroundings of which you play your music alone is but a door way unto temptation. However, it is the choices you make when facing such temptation that make you the faithful follower of Christ, or the sinner in need of His love and guidance. We all fall short of God's glory, but it is Him alone on which we can depend and turn to so as to aquire His works in our lives.
