The many good questions she asked (and the several good answers from others) are no longer being read by the original poster.

Just in case some believe they are answering her / her questions.

I don't think it will hurt anything to answer any of the questions even though they are old threads. Others are reading the answers and can learn something.  Just have to bear in mind you are not talking to the OP of the thread but instead expounding the scriptures asked about.

It appears just one individual Leonardo Von is reviving all the Pamelasv old threads which leads me to wonder if it is the same person.

No, they are not the same person.  Leonardo has been reviving all kinds of old threads due to the subject matter.  He seems finds them interesting and wants to contribute.

There really  isn't anything set in stone.  Personally, if a thread has been dead for some time, I wish it would be locked, not hidden or deleted.  This way, if someone whats to do some research, they could, but in order to discuss, they would have to create a new thread.  I have seen topics cycle throughout the years.  New people come all the time with the same questions and concerns, and need to find answers.

We have one.  Click on search above, select the down arrow and choose Advance Search.  You can set your own parameters.

Which reminds me...what is forum etiquette, timewise, in restarting  a topic on a new thread that has been hashed over in the past?

Yeah, no hard and fast rules, no established ettiquette. Seems reasonable to me though, that a person wishing to comment on an inactive thread, might first want to consider if they are responding the the thread topic, or the original poster, or some subsequent poster in the thread. Once that is established, consider the date. Do a member search, and see the last time the poster even was on the forums,

It the poster has not been here in years, maybe even months, there is a good chance that they might not even see the reply. This is true whether it is to the original poster, or a subsequent poster.

If it is the topic that is of interest, then maybe consider looking for a more recent thread on the same topic, that is still or recently active. If a person wants to post in a topic, and add something new that has not already been offered in the thread, perhaps consider a wholly new thread. Like:

"On the topic of such and such, have you considered that maybe it could be understood as . . . ?"

Just some thoughts!

A specialized search engine for forums targeting past topics would be helpful also.

Sometimes also, you can use Google advanced search, and find things that our own search engine misses! Use the in connection with the command:

site:worthychristianforums.com
