I'm sorry to hear that so many of you do not believe in life after death.

It is clear you believe your eyes and senses over the Word of God which proclaims the departed believers are NOT DEAD! They are alive and worshipping God.

If it idolatry to ask THEM--the living in heaven--to pray for me, then by what possible standard is it NOT idolatry to ask a Brother or Sister on earth to pray for us?

No, no no, no, don't let WhySoBlind lead you on here! As any good Southern Redneck knows what "Case XXX" means in that fine folding (or fixed hunting) knife that goes for good money in any good hardware store that carries fine cutlery!

How do you respond to the idolatry I observed with my own eys on world wide television in which a priest announced, contrary to scripture I might quickly add, to the congregation that "We can now PRAY TO JOHN PAUL II"? Well?

I can only answer with another question: What "idolatry"? If I worship the Blessed Virgin Mary as a goddess, you would have a point, but I do not. She is a creature of God, but a most higly favored one by God.

As for "praying to John Paul II," I do that as well with my own deceased mother, since I believe she is in heaven, therefore she can pray for me (or usher my prayers to God) from her position in heaven!
