How on God's green earth would you know that? Legalism, simply put, is following The Commandments of The WORD made flesh that dwelt amongst us, without the Holy Spirit's indwelling presence. Just as Galatians says. As also stated, without Love, it is all just NOISE. I will not argue or over complicate this anymore. That is what Legalism is. It is so simple...

So why so much HATE? All claim the first to be true in their faith. Because what you are thinking are Christ based Churches (or who you may think to be true believers) , may not be. When they are not in Christ, not alive, they are under the prince of the power of the air (the devil) , EPHESIANS 2, like we all once were, and like most all the world is(and like so many 'believers' and churches may be) . Legalism is when people establish a works-based system of righteousness. Quote I will not argue or over complicate this anymore. That is what Legalism is. It is so simple... It's so simple, you've needed help to misunderstand it.

Proverbs 6:16-19King James Version (KJV) 16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. Your own post here shows you don't know. I just look at it from the other direction.Of course they are trying to earn points towards salvation by doing the Commandments, but without the Holy Spirit to bring the Commandments to life and reality thru Yeshua, it is empty and does nothing. In other words it is empty and has no validity. You cannot have 'legalism' without the commandments. You cannot describe legalism without the comparison. Trying to do 'good works' or follow the commandments without the Saving Grace of the Lord Yeshua working thru His Holy Spirit is pointless.

Could you give an example. What you consider as hate, some may consider it as false doctrines and therefore does not fellowship with those. Does not mean that they are hated. I do not hold to the teachings of the rcc, but i do not hate those who congregate there. Simple "Man's" definition Hate- passionate dislike. Informal meaning: express strong dislike for, criticize or abuse. I mentioned some of these earlier. mistreatment, unkind words, belittling, attacking one's faith in Christ. Attacking their character because beliefs are a bit different. Questions for you. Can people choose to not fellowship with others without the dislike, criticism or negative words (hate)? Can they just not fellowship? Why do they choose to negatively and forcefully assert themselves (attack) others?

They feel personally attacked when their faith is attacked so instead of giving a reasonable defense, they lash out at the one attacking. Very well put. Even the hand of friendship, when offered, is maybe seen as something other that it it is. Living in peace with out fellow man and fellow brother/sister is somehow a sign of weakness, or it means we have joined in the 'cuddle-brigade' of no particular belief system that seems to be sweeping the nations.

With a false premise , seeded in the brain/ spirit?/ soul? / , all that follows from it is false. Of course the ones who opposed Jesus also thought like this: that they could 'earn' some kind of righteousness by obeying the commandments; Jesus set others free, so they could have righteousness by faith, even that a gift of sheer grace from the Father in heaven, and so they could obey Him without any shame or guilt from their past sinfulness(Jesus bore it all on the cross), and even come to the very throne of grace for help every day , all the time, for what is needed.
