I want to to stop hurting too I came to this forum to seek help as you are doing, because I really don’t want to die. However, my hurt and hopelessness is constant! I can’t see an end. All I see ahead is more pain. Intellectually I know God is present and sovereign. Interestingly, because of that, I find it difficult to fight the notion that He has abandoned me thus sending me into a deeper spiral of hopelessness. Even in all of my pain, I feel a faint, very faint but ever present, external force that’s encouraging me to hang on. You reached out to this forum as I did, so you must feel that force also! I believe that that force is The Holy Spirit in our time of trial... Hang in there with me a little while more. Sometimes we all go through depression or some suffering, but those things do pass. The Lord will get you through everything eventually. Jeremiah. Issac and Esau. Joseph. These verses about some of these guys require us to think hard about what really transpired in their lives. They are well worth reading and kinda filling in the gaps with your imagination and often God given inspiration. They had it HARD. They were just humans. Saul in the NT seems quite dry reading (Acts) but try to imagine it in context as it happened. NONE of these guy's stories were known to them at the time as they were going thru trials. Imagine being stuck out at sea on a boat big enough for 200+ souls. Saul did not know how it would end at the time - he just kept on keeping on. Read about the many accounts of man's various trials in the scriptures, put there so we could see in hindsight what happened - but at the ACTUAL time of the various accounts, it must have all seemed hopeless. I was just reading my diary and there is lots of this in there. So I will say what I said to someone else recently struggling with this same thing: demons are very involved when it comes to whether or not to end your life, and in the end this is a spiritual battle with the forces of darkness.
