I don't know what else to do. I've had ministry leaders, pastors, missionaries, friends and family including myself, pray over my anger problems. I'm at my wits end. Do I have faith that God will heal me? Yes, I do. Have I cried out to God for hours and hours at a time over my anger? Yes I have. I have come here with this problem because I'm asking God for a breakthrough. Maybe there's someone out there struggling with the same issue. My anger is sometimes very unexplainable. I've woke up in the morning angry at the world sometimes for no reason at all. At times, my anger has driven me to tears and I'm literally afraid for myself that some day, some how, someone is going to ignite the fire inside of me and I'm either going to end up being killed or in prison for the rest of my life. I've attended counseling, I've prayed over and read the Bible as it concerns my anger. I'm at a loss and like I said before I'm very afraid for myself. I'm more afraid of myself than I am of anyone else in this world and that in itself scares the crap out of me. I don't know what else to say. Please, whatever you do... no Hallmark answers please. I know all the right answers and I've heard them a thousand times over from my family and friends. Thank you....to everyone who reads this if you can help....please....help me!!

Hey!

To begin, having had to deal with my own problems, I only know of three causes for such struggles -

Physical - A chemical imbalance in your brain.

Soulical - Reaction to circumstance you feel helpless about, or something traumatic that happened in your past, or undealt with pain, or the like.

Spiritual - Demonic influence.

I hope you've gotten all bases covered?

As for me, I've had to deal with chronic depression, which is actually the flip-side of anger (depression can be thought of as anger turned inward). It's something that doesn't just "go away." You have to walk it out.

Where as I have been having to learn to let my anger out instead of holding it in all the time, you might have to work at putting some ice on the fire, you might say.

The important things to know are that overcoming your anger takes a concientious effort on a day-by-day, circumstance-by-circumstance basis. When you are angry, make the choice to deal with it then and there.

For instance, find a way to release the anger in a non-hurtful way (i.e. buy a punching bag and just start pounding away at it; letting out a big, loud scream; if you are into video games, get a good shoot-em-up or punch-em-out game). The point is anger works up energy inside of you, and you need to release that energy somehow before you can still your thoughts.

Or, since in your profile I saw you are into worship - I know this may sound like the last thing you feel you can do - but do it anyway! - is to stick in a really good worship CD and sing your lungs out, dance around and turn your anger into worship!!!!!!

I know that sound absolutely crazy, or you may feel like you can't approach the Lord like this in your anger . . . but I know from experience, it works!!

After all, He would rather you worship Him through your struggles than to avoid Him.

I overcame a serious fear struggle this way - whenever I felt consumed by the fear, I would focus on the Lord and worship. Eventually, the fear just up and left!

Now I love that which I used to fear! It's great!!

So, basically:

1. If you can, discover the source of your anger and do what you can to deal with that.

2. Understand that it's a process you need to work out.

3. "Working out" means you have to chose to overcome the anger when it's flaring and do what is needed for that to be accomplished.

4a. Get the energy out - but have a plan on how to do this (punching bag, screaming, dancing, etc.) so you may go at it in that way so you don't hurt anyone or anything.

4b. Turn the anger into worship.

5. Once the anger has settled, worship (or worship some more).

6. Now that the energy is out, what are you angry about? Is there anything you can do about it? (even if just pray) Pour out your heart to the Lord - i.e. "Lord, I am so angry about XYZ," and just tell Him about it. Once you are out of words, be still in His presence and wait for Him to speak to you or touch your heart, or whatever - but just be still for a while in Him.

Again, it may take a while, but if you keep at it, you'll begin noticing a change.

Sound like a plan?

Thank you for your input because a few of you have shed light on some things I've never really looked in to or thought about. I've been diagnosed professionally with a lot more than just anger. I don't have the money or the desire to take medication(s) even though it's been suggested of me to. I am actively involved in various ministries and I exercise a lot. Part of the problem is I don't take a whole lot of time for myself. I love helping others but I wonder if it's time to take a step back and rest for a season. I don't know.

My wife did some research on diet and depression.

There could be something in there about anger as well.

Apparently glutten is a very bad thing and it's in almost everything :)

I will definitely pray for you.

But the one quote I like to mention in a case like this..."How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time."

It's going to be a day-to-day walk, but remember...God is there with you and his feet are the only ones in the sand.

God Bless and hang in there....we all love you!!!!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
