Yes, it did David. Thank you. I only wish you had seen it sooner, so that I wouldn't have to continue to be a nuisance and keep bumping it up!

Isaiah 61:10

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels

I was led to this verse after what Shiloh posted on the practice of marriage in the N|T time.

"I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God;"

We will greatly rejoice in the Lord.

Because we are saved, we now know Jesus and call Him Father, Abba.

"for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness"

We all dress the same all over the world from those days to this very day.

We wear our garments on our body and after that we wear our robes.

If salvation is our Garment then we need Righteousness to be made presentable for our father.

In those days formal dressing meant wearing a robe on and above your garment.

This shows that when we are ready to meet our maker our Lord God of Host we need to be formally dressed.

Inner garment being the Acceptance of Jesus and the salvation he Gave us through His Death.

The Robe being our righteousness, how we have kept ourselfs for Him.

"as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels"

We should be in our best dressed selfs when we are ready to meet Him.

When the Bride or Bridegroom decks themselfs in Jewels the message is Two fold.

One to show that he/she is indeed ready to taken /or be given away.

Secondly shows the preparations that went into getting ready and the importance the event has on thier lives.

This is why we need to live our lives in righteousness even after being saved.

Esp: after getting saved.

Suzanne - I know what you mean! You've probably heard the sermons preached about the church moving with the world. It does seem true that many churches, although somewhat set apart from the world, are only compromising more and more with the years to please people and keep a congregation happy. Things are totally accepted now that would not have been tolerated in the church years ago. Is this right? I don't think so. God does not change.

Even if we would grasp how clearly Christ was conveying the message of righteousness here, it would have an effect on the church. If we would just hear!

Matthew 5:20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Maybe we should turn this study up a notch .

Lets turn to some things that awaits us.

2 Timothy 4: 8

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

James 1: 12

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

True a preparation needs to be in the making.

I once heard a preacher say that No one is righteous only God.

I then asked myself then why does the Bible asks us to be righteous.

The most commonly used verse to support this ill-gotten theory is.

I John 1:8

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

So then how does one with sin have any righteousness at all.

I remembered something Shiloh and Dr Luke were telling me about Faith and how when it is true it will be evidenced by Works.

I also remembered how now I am learning never to take a singular verse to hold a doctrine.

"If we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." However when you read the whole Chapter the meaning is then awakened.

Yes we can be free from sin.

Yes we can be righteous that is why the Bible asks us to be righteous.

1 John 1:

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

The verses do not tell us that we cannot be free of sin and cannot be righteous.

It tells us that without Him we are sinners but with Him we are free from sin.

It says that we can ask him to wash away all un-righteousness from our lives.

That when we really belive in Him, when we really have Faith in Him we will be evidenced by works.

Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

There is a preparing that needs to take place!

We do need to start preparing.

We can lead righteous lives.

We can be sin free.

Only in Him can we be so.

Only by Him.

Only for Him.

I am in agreement with you David. It is by the Power of His Grace, that we are made able. That is effectual working power of It in us. Grace teaches us "how" to do these things.

(Read Ephesians 1 for further study on the working of grace)

Ephesians 1:19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

In His Love,

Suzanne

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
