Shalom Gordo,

Thanks for the question.

Just so I understand you correctly, are you having difficulty being alone because of external temptations and loneliness?  Would you also mind telling me a little more about yourself (for example, how you came to be a believer)?

Love & Shalom

Hi Gordo,

Welcome to Worthy, first of all. Hopefully you'll find this post from the archives. Try finding some Christian fellowship, get involved in a bible study and/or prayer group, and establishing accountability in your life. It might help to keep on track. Remaining isolated only makes for more feelings of loneliness.

You don't have to go out into the world, before becoming face-to-face with serious temptation. So, it would be wise to do adjust your computer's settings to: Strict. Spend time at Worthy, and get acquainted with the community of believers here. Just a few suggestions, as your post was a bit brief. God bless.

Shalom,

David/BeauJangles

Sex is like an itch that you want to scratch. And eventually it can become almost uncontrollable. Thing is, our "natural man" (physical body) needs both food and sex (depending on your libido), as well as a lot of other things. It's the way it is designed. The only response I can think of is lots of prayer. If you are single, that prayer would include fining a suitable mate. And the key to finding the right mate is finding a partner of the opposite sex that you "fit", emotionally, intellectually, etc. The sex will simply follow - after you are married, of course.

FWIW, I can find nothing at all in the bible prohibiting masturbation, so I'm just going to be silent on that other than to say it involves fanticization, so you don't want to be fantasizing about any "real person", for obvious reasons.

It is a simplistic answer. By finding Christian friends who will support, encourage, challenge and rebuke you.

How do you find Christian friends?   In a church that practises what it preaches.

How do you find such a church?  by trial and error, going to church services, talking to people there and seeing whether their lives match what is being preached.
