I would have enjoyed joining you in the plays- I loved acting, but you would have to handle all the impressions. What fun hearing about your and turtletwo's childhoods! Talking about memories brings more to mind. Yes it’s nice to think back and remember fun and good memories. Then one of their parents would answer the phone and you’d ask to speak to your friend. Then if you wanted to invite them over, they would say “I’ll just go and ask my mom”. Hehe. @marvelloustime and @turtletwo It was different at my house back in the olden days, and I remember this with a chuckle. My father was a pastor, and every single time I asked to use the phone or when someone called me, he (precious man of God) would say, "Remember, this is a business phone," translated, "Don't talk too long." He was so concerned that someone who needed him, wouldn't be able to reach him. We kids were allowed to answer the phone using the greeting, "Hello, this is the MacPherson residence. To whom do you wish to speak?" It sounds overly proper now, but back in my day, it was not an uncommon greeting back then. And I remember the phone was an aqua princess phone. Mother must have thought it went well with our harvest gold kitchen appliances. And that brings back the memory of mother making me set the oven timer for one hour to practice piano-- (confession- sometimes I would sneak in the kitchen during practice and turn it up to about 5 minutes.
