  1. Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
  2. I totally agree with both of you. She is an unrivaled model of grace and dignity. In every one of her annual Christmas messages, she finds a way to share the Gospel of Christ. I'm not sure we will realize the significance of her presence in the world until she has left us. God bless the Queen.
  3. Oh, Praise God! How true this has been in my life! Thank you for encouraging us through this beautiful post, @Worship Warriors.
  4. Praise God that you know what to do. Reading the Bible, praying, and listening to good sermons is what keeps me going, too. Have you considered putting the Bible and sermons on an ipod or phone? That way you can take in God's Word just about anywhere, even when you go to bed.
  5. @Debp- Praise God all is well with you and your mom! Thank you for letting us know you are okay . Will be praying for better internet connection.
  6. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, @Not me. @Debp is a beloved member here. Praying for you, @Debp and also for your mother. ?
  7. Then carry on, Sister! You are doing just fine-- in fact, you're doing great! I will be praying for you.
  8. This is a huge subject, and there are no short-cut answers-- just know that. I think knowing God's will is an ongoing learning process. God certainly expects you to take care of Sydney and to provide a place for him. Sometimes just looking at how God does things shows us what to do. God Himself worked creating a place for Adam and Eve (and us) to live. He even planted the garden for them, Genesis 2:8 In John 14:3 Jesus says that He is going to prepare a place for us in heaven, so it is fitting and right for you to work and to prepare a place for Sydney, too. Proverbs 3: 5-6 tells us to "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." This passage indicates three things for us to do, and if we do those, God will direct our paths. We trust Him to do that. Just keep your heart ears open and your will flexible. Ask God to put His desires in your heart and direct you; and pray as you make any plans.
  9. Couldn't decided whether to react with a "HaHa" or a "Praise God"
  10. My best days are spent this way, but I'm not consistent in it yet. I still struggle with having the right perpective on all the daily earthly necessities/chores. 1 Corinthians 10:31, "whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God," is my aim. I want my mind to be renewed on this matter so I can view every activity as consecrated to the Lord rather than seeing them divided into either spiritual or earthly.
  11. I love this, @Cletus! It is amazing to me how God helps us in very practical ways. I can't tell you how many times I have needed something and God has orchestrated my steps to lead me right to where it is and caused my eyes to land on it! Oh, if we could walk with the Lord in simplicity and trust how much more He could do for us!
  12. Such encouraging words to those of us in the process. Obviously, you have walked/are walking this path. In so many ways it feels like dying, and at times I have wondered if I was approaching my time to pass over literally. For me, crucifying the flesh has happened in bits and pieces, but now the Light will hit larger chunks that just fall away-- and the Spirit moves me as I write this-- chunks that are closer to the bone, closer to the heart. It can be disorienting until I re-find my balance in His Spirit. I'm reminded of a line from the old hymn Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, "and the things of earth will grow strangely dim." And oh, how very dim they have grown! Except for His purpose, there seems to be no reason for me remaining here-- but that is enough.
  13. The Lord brought this to my mind this morning as I was praying about life in general. Passages like this pull me back to the peace and humility of simply being led by His Spirit. For me, that's where contentment and joy are found.
  14. Beautiful words that echo the thoughts of my own heart, @Not me. I find no purpose, no fulfillment, no joy in anything outside the Kingdom of God and the Gospel of Christ. I am copying and pasting these quotes to my notes so that I can be reminded of them often. Let us pray for all who desire this as these are difficult times.
  15. Praise God! Yes, He is working. Thank you for keeping us updated. I am praying for you both.
  16. John, I am so sorry you are going through this. I am praying for God to connect you with someone who will accompany you. Consider @Debp's idea, and also, is it possible your home-care agency would have a cna who could accompany you?
  17. God does not lead by guilt. Confusion and lack of peace are not from God. Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." John 16:33 "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
  18. Amen, and I also believe we will be shocked at the magnitude of blessing His sacrifice delivered to us, and how much of it we left untouched.
  19. Exactly! Oh, that more brothers and sisters would see this. That passage comes to my mind s0 often when I am praying for others. Our prayer in faith does make a difference! One of my former pastors used to say, "Lord, we lift these requests to you on the stretchers of our prayers." Luke 5 (NASB says stretcher, KJV says bed, couch) 17. And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them. 18. And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him. 19. And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus. 20. And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee. 21. And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? 22. But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts? 23. Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk? 24. But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house. 25. And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. God's will for His people is health and wholeness of spirit, soul, and body. May God cause His intercessors here to reach out by faith and agreement to take hold of Trace's "stretcher," and by faith lift him to the LORD for healing. God IS able and willing. (And Trace, you would give more people opportunity to gather around you in prayer, if you'd put post a simple thread in the Prayer Request forum.)
  20. Well said. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (emphasis, mine)
