I think debate is healthy, as long as protestors abide by the law.

I would agree, however...

When was the last time you heard or watched a fair debate, political or otherwise that was healthy; that the moderator, crowds, attendees or questions were not biased? These days the conservative or Christian viewpoint is met with hostility, booing and angst. There's no room for debate in public schools and most major universities. Many Christian's or conservatives are shunned and excluded even from presenting a critical thinking point of view, just to name a current one, Ann Coulter.

Has anyone ever parsed most poll questions, and noticed by design the questions structure is misleading to achieve a desired response and outcome? When major media takes a poll and says; 56% of Americans favor this or that, go back and look at the wording of the question. The question could have been stated much simpler and more direct.

There's room in the public school system to teach the youth about what parents should be teaching their children. There's room to learn and celebrate the Muslim and other religions. There's no room for discussion of a "creation" and the name of "Jesus" in public schools is everything but forbidden. The theory and lie of evolution and the big bang is taken as fact; with no room to allow for critical thinking, discussion or debate. It's akin to getting a degree in astrobiology; the study of nothing ever found that's not there.

I highly encourage anyone to watch some of Kent Hovind's debates on Youtube on evolution and dinosaurs to illustrate some of my points about the atheists and liberals. The Bible, critical thinking, free expression and freedom of speech are becoming restricted and banned; coined with the term 'hate speech', and hate laws are becoming the norm. The major media outlets are no longer objective reporting for the voting population to keep check on government and report facts; but are talking heads with an agenda to shape opinion.

Does one suppose there's any application and truth today in the following infamous quote:

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it  ~  Adolf Hitler

Debates would be a different matter. Our country has become very politicized, it would seem to me. The Democrats want the White House back and they bend the truth to accomplish that. The mainstream media seems to be their ally.

Panel Of Third Graders To Dictate Nation's Climate Change Policy
September 18th, 2019

WASHINGTON, D.C.—At a panel on climate change held yesterday, the Senate brought in a group of excited third graders for ideas on fighting climate change.

"These kids have ideas and they are passionate, so we must listen to them," said Sen. Brian Schatz of Hawaii. "There are no possible downsides to taking kids who have been told the world is ending by the public school system and allowing them to dictate national policies on important issues."

The kids came up with the following list so far, though they say they're "just spitballing" and the ideas need some fleshing out:

  • Bribing the climate with cookies and candy
  • Putting the climate on time-out
  • Just ignoring climate change and playing Fortnite
  • Building a giant magnet and sucking up all the bad climate stuff
  • Buying a Nintendo Switch for every person in the nation (so they'll stay inside and play Nintendo instead of driving cars)
  • Making a big freeze ray gun like in Despicable Me and shooting the climate
  • Pointing and laughing at cows who fart so they'll be embarrassed and stop farting
  • Hey do you guys want to play some Minecraft? This is boring.

"It's incredibly brave for these kids to volunteer to take over our government's climate change policies," said Schatz as the panel convened for its seventh Fortnite break of the morning. "I'm not sure why we didn't think of this before."

The kids will also be asked to make policies on bedtime, homework, and candy.

also where is God in this situation?

When it comes to occasions like these, God usually attends when He's invited. Maybe that's the problem.

Sounds like some pretty level-headed kids. Adults never think of such practical solutions.

yes indeed and then we go and 'fix it' and that normally is a reciepe for disaster at worst or a headache at best for the long term.

but a lot of folk dont see faith demonstrated and the belief that God will take care of things. in the main we only see the ground level and God has a panoramic view. how can that ever change? and with a shrinking platform for Christian outlook with a Godly base line.

Am I to understand that people on here do not believe our climate is changing and our lives are threatened by it?

I can't speak for the people on here, but yes, our lives are not threatened or endangered by our changing climate, yet. Cyclic climate change has always been in constant motion since Noah's flood. And yes, glaciers, Alaskans, sea levels and polar bears will be affected. Climate change during the tribulation is going to be unprecedented and supernatural.
