Yes of course the blood cleanses our sins, but you know there is more to the work of Christ than this...right?

The old nature needed to be dealt with....born from above, etc.

The reason we were created was to do good works.....That Old Man has been crucified and it is no longer I That live but Jesus lives through me.....If you are a “ New Creation” because you now have the indwelling Holy Spirit—Good Works will follow as night follows day .Works you do after Salvation , if done because you think they save you or keep you saved are Dead Works......

I wasn't referring to works, only pointing to the fact that although the blood is central as far as sin is concerned, there is much more to Christ than this. Perhaps I misunderstood, but it seemed you were saying the blood was the all and that there is no need to go further in understanding the Father's work in Christ and in us.

Friend, you seem to see everything in 'present tense....as if you had already attained.....not by being a DOER of the Word but by just reading it. We are supposed to DO the 'good works/walk in them as they are appointed for us Eph 2. and it would really help if people started 'toeing  the line 'from the Foundation.....not jumping on the Bandwagon half-way along. Because if the foundation is not secure all else is in vain...Christians and Gentiles have MUCH to RE-consider !

You know the old saw about those who “ assume” ?    How do you Know am not a “ Doer Of The Word?” Perhaps even a better “ doer” than you ?  The most effective way “ to do” is to rest. We do the resting, secure in the knowledge that we are saved by belief in the Gospel ALONE, and God does “ the working”—— in us and through us. I realize that this reality of the Ways Of God and how He REALLY works through us is foreign to you and your type. That is a pity.....God is not interested in “ Spiritual Imitation” He wants “ Spiritual Fruition”. One is religion, the other is Christianity.....I hope Newbies discover the difference between the two ....I suspect it is too late for many of you.....You are “ blind guides” I am sorry to say......

The reason we were created is to 'become Sons and Daughters of God ! 2 Cor 6v16-18.  The New Creation starts with Obedience...something the Old Creation badly neglected Acts 5v32

The “ New Creation”.  How did you get it ( assuming you have it) It started with Faith. It ends with Faith.Just like Paul said..... The Righteous shall LIVE by faith.....

There is always a bit more to learn as we grow in Christ.....until we reach perfection.

When do you believe it is, Betha, if you don't mind telling me, when you reach perfection?

Somebody said that “ patriotism is the last refuge of a Scoundrel”

Sometimes I think the Book of James is “ the last refuge of a Legalist”. It is.

Lots of folks I have known over the years have thought that James doesn't fit.

Folks have said the same about Hebrews.

Go figure.

I'm not a dogmatic legalistic person, but if any aspect of God's word applies to our lives, we should by all means embrace it. All ten of the first given of the Great Commandments are yet extremely relevant for both Jewish and Gentiles who also believe. And still, Jesus did give another commandment here.

John 13:34 34A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.  KJV,

John 15:12 12This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.  KJV

Amen BJ, and thanks for the input! I find it important to note that the command to love is much different between the two Covenants. Instead of loving others as we love ourselves, it's now "love as I have loved you," which answers to it being "a new commandment."
