Being around people who brings you down

In the morning that first thing I do is thank God for given me another day. I start my day every morning the same way. Listening to a sermon on The network station as I prepare for work. On my way to the work place I listen to gospel music singing alone even though I can't really sing.

My heart feels so lighten, so free with praises on my lips for my Savior and Lord. But after a while of being at work listening to the negative trash that comes out of some of their mouths my whole being seems to change. I become sad, sometimes angry. Don't get to me wrong I sent my whole day praises and thanking my Savior no matter what I'm feeling, I just don't understand how some people could have this affect on me? Do anyone have any advise? It would be greatly appreciated.

Jacquline, this may help you. Get to work a little earlier than usual. Walk thorugh out your work places and pause at each co-workers station, weither desk or whatnot and pray, ask the L-RD to be present there, to bring his Shalom in that place, to rest it upon that person, to allow no evil spirits to take up residence there and to guard you throughout your day that you may be a blessing to all those around you and when you hear anything negative take a moment to pray against that and for that person. They are lost and have no idea, that is what you have been placed there for.

Jacqueline, that is a problem all too common for Christians. I, too, am in the secular business world and am grieved at times by what I encounter.

It is a problem going all the way back to Genesis.

2Pe 2:6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

2Pe 2:7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

2Pe 2:8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

Lot, too, was dismayed by what was around him. It does wear on our spirits, so we must continue to seek the Lord and allow His healing touch into our lives.
