I'll leave this to someone else to try to answer. And that's not meant in any kind of dismissive tone. I truly don't understand where the disconnect is. I simply don't understand exactly what it is you're asking.

Does that help? Edited January 31, 2020 by plo1988

You aren't wording my question differently unless I'm mistaken somehow. (I asked you not to word my question differently, unless I'm mistaken nzkev) I think my question still stands, again unless I'm missing something. If I answer 'yes'....there is also a perspective I can adopt toward the question that would require a "yes" answer. Without a better understanding of your perspective on the question, i'm at a loss as to how to answer.

Does Jesus "dying for our sins" mean anything other than that Jesus took the punishment for our sins by dying for them? I guess this is sort of the new question. Perhaps explain where and why the answers I attempted to give fell short of your expectation? NZKEV's answer also seemed quite simple and relevant to me....use his answer to explain from if that's easier.
