Stale, dry, chocolate "flavored" cake, topped with a rubbery like covering presented as chocolate icing, with a gooey, gluey white "unknown" substance mistakenly referred to as "vanilla cream!" THE "ultimate" childhood junk food of the 50's and 60's, ...ahhh, I wouldn't go so far as calling them cake, ...per se, ...but back in the 50's early 60's they were a favorite "long shelf life" staple that were kept in bomb shelters during the "Communist" threat of annihilation..........., until, ...MacDonald's came to town and "knocked" them off of the shelf. You didn't know that, man, ...you must of had a "sheltered" childhood, ...why, those were the "good" old days!
