i suppose i just don't understand why the source of RCC teachings are not able to be directly from scripture itself. it's the only source we need, and should be the only source we use.

yes, we have the constitution, and we have the supreme court. but it's no secret that the supreme court is ruled over by fallible men who often misinterpret the constitution. we see that every day.... the constitution's own words are so very obvious, that congress shall make no law regarding the endorsement of a religion, or prohibiting the freedom of expression of one's faith... and yet the supreme court has continuously made law from the bench that forbids christians from doing just that. why? because they are mere mortals who were not present at the time the constitution was written, and they personally disagree with what the framers intended. still, that doesn't mean the rest of us can't reasonably and accurately assess what the framers intended, and recognize how it has been violated by the judges at the top.

in the same way, we have the Bible, the unerring word of God. granted, it often takes a lot of study on a subject in order to find everything that scripture says on that same subject, in order to utilize context to understand its meaning, but it's really not something that requires a panel of "X" number of men to interpret it. no matter how devoted to God (or to the RCC) those men are, they're still fallible. scripture teaches us that when we seek understanding of God's word THRU His word, the Holy Spirit will reveal that meaning to us. and that is all we need!

Whelp, looks like the mods don't like when Catholics link to Catholic websites. I guess it's scary or something. It's sad tho, cuz no one here will ever come to know the full Truth that Jesus Christ teaches in the Gospels.

With all due respect, Christina -

Discussing a topic means you bring in your thoughts and beliefs into a discussion, and not to continually copy-and-paste someone else's words on the subject all the time.

Let us here your thoughts, your research, your rebuttals. . . . .

So, when the woman in the crowd cried out a blessing to Jesus' mother - whydid Jesus respond as He did?

Can you tell me this in your own words?

Do You know where  Father came from? John through his younger years he yearned "to be somebody," to stand out, to be noticed and admired. He got his wish, and more.

His quest led him to California during the real estate boom of the 1970s. In a few years, he became a millionaire. If "success is measured in dollars and cents," as he believed then, he had achieved "the American Dream."

"I was eating and drinking with the wealthy," said the small-town native. "I fell into fast-lane living, with fast women."

"I would go down Rodeo Drive in my new red Ferrari and people would turn their heads and say, 'That must be somebody.' My 2,000-square-foot bedroom was larger than most people's houses.

"But I was out of touch with reality. Reality is God."

How out of touch he was became apparent when an attractive young entertainer at a party introduced him to what she called her "best friend" --cocaine.

His American Dream disappeared literally up his nose as cocaine became a $10,000-a-week habit. Physically and psychologically devastated, he landed in a hospital, and for months, he said, "I didn't eat, speak or function normally. I was sick at heart because I had made it and lost it."

"I saw no way out, only absolute darkness. The only thing I wanted was death.

Guess who interceeded for Christ through a vision His mother which is why he says this. Protestants restrict themselves to the bible Catholics have the Saints interceeding for us which is why there are so many inexplicable healings at major shrines around the world. You can go back to the Catacombs of the first Christians and see that intercession of saints began during Apostolic times.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

But who is doing the healings, and who is reveared for this? Shrines of who? The creator? or shrines of the created?

that's interesting history, assissi, but it doesn't make it line up with scripture, with God's own words! millions of christians have felt the healing touch of God without being in a shrine, or without praying to dead saints or to mary. personally i don't see those healings as "inexplicable", because they are what they are... a miraculous healing from God alone.

question... and i don't know if you know who he is or what your feelings are about him, but if someone goes to a healing service led by bob tilton, or any other "healing evangelist" and experience inexplicable healings, does that mean tilton or whoever should get one ounce of credit? does it even necessarily mean God was behind the healing?

i'm saying this, using non catholic evangelists as example for a reason. i don't personally believe God is behind many healings done by, for instance, WOF evangelists. you see, satan comes as an angel of light, to distort the truth and take one's focus off of God. that's His ammunition to lead those astray who really are actually seeking God, just seeking Him in all the wrong places. anything God can do, satan can immitate. hundreds of thousands of individuals every year fall prey to this kind of supernatural warfare. their focus is shifted to the messenger rather than to the message... to the reflection of what they think is the light, rather than to the source of the true light. yet they will staunchly defend their faith in all the wrong things. does that make them "not" a christian? not necessarily... but it makes them very misguided christians who need another form of healing... true spiritual healing from God Almighty that will equip them with blinders, so that their sight remains focused on the straight and narrow, rather than getting sidetracked by what is in their peripheral vision.

Apology accepted and will pray that everything goes well.

As for the x panel.

The papacy is defined as "the ministry of a supreme pastor with the power of jurisdiction to maintain universal unity and orthodoxy within the Christian church," was created by Christ, through the apostle Peter, and this ministry was thereafter succeeded to by the bishops of Rome.

Christ desired His Church to be one --united in Faith; and that He intended His Church to remain united for all time. This is quite clear in Scripture, as when the Lord prays over the Apostles in John 17:20-21, saying:

Why do you have to go to a shrine to be healed then? And not all healings come from G-d, remember Job?

Refer to this scripture when Doctors were converted by this healing.

But the Pharisees, hearing this, said, "This man does not cast out devils except by Beelzebub, the prince of devils." And knowing their thoughts Jesus said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand?"

Matthew 12:24-26. See also, Mark 3:22-26, and Luke 11:17-20.

Brother Leo Schwager was miraculously cured of multiple sclerosis. Before his instant cure Leo was totally infirm he could not eat solid food , he had to wear a permanent catheter, could not speak and had to be nursed like a small child. His weight was down to 103 lbs. from the normal 175 and the Doctors gave him 2 or 3 months to live. After being submerged in baths filled with water from the spring at Lourds twice. He was taken with the other sick people to the Esplanade for the Blessing of the sick and to receive the Body of Christ in the Eucharist when the Bishop Presented the Blessed Sacrament Leo said "i felt an intense pain from my head to my feet. My last thought was now I'm going to die. This is when he was witnessed by all catapulting out of his wheelchair to his knees in front of the Bishop completely cured.

This miracle including several others converted Dr. Alexis Carrel an agnostic who witnessed this and who in 1912 won the Nobel Prize for physiology or medicine

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
