Seattle lawmakers want to abolish the city’s police force and replace it with a “community-led” safety prevention program, according to proposed legislation released Friday.

Arguing that the Seattle Police Department “perpetuates racism and violence” and upholds “white supremacy culture,” the Seattle City Council moved to redirect cash to a non-profit, civilian-led “Department of Community Safety & Violence Prevention” — and offered a “blueprint” on how to defund the police, according to the resolution.

Not only are all those black, Asian, and Latino police officers all engaged in racism, but they are in support of white supremacy culture.

The New York Democrat held a virtual town hall last week with constituents and said when she’s asked, “What does a world where we defund the police look like?” she likes to respond with, “A suburb.”

Yup!  That's what a world without police looks like...  it's like a suburb.   Think about it... if you don't have police, then you don't arrest anyone.... if you don't arrest anyone, then there is no crime..... if there is no crime..... suburb.

No police = Suburb.

File that under "Reasons I'll vote for Trump".  I'll never really liked Trump, but the alternative is hell on Earth.

The Seattle city council is a group of extremest socialist/communists.  Many, including the leader, ran openly on the socialist party ticket.  I learn this from a person who is a socialist and used to live in Seattle.  She considered the city council to be extremest.

If you have no police, you have no investigative agency to determine who is at fault during a dispute.  Even Socialist States have police forces sometimes indistinguishable from Military States.  Is this what Washingtonians want?

My understanding of defunding is not to get rid of the police completely but to reallocate funds normally going to the police for other means of community use that would serve in different ways with the same goal down the line. Police will always be needed to enforce the law but they can be a blunt instrument at times.  I'd have to see some actual quotes from lawmakers and politicians that they want to completely get rid of the police because that is ludicrous.
