Prayer of a Stray

Dear God, please send someone who cares..

I'm so tired of running and sick with despair..

My body's so sore and racked with pain,

I crouch in the bushes and hide from the rain.

The people I loved left me alone by the road...

Now I'm forsaken with no place go.

I rummage through garbage looking for bones..

But people chase me with sticks and with stones.

I'm wormy and sick and ridden with fleas,

I just want a family of my own to please.

Oh, please take me home - I'll try to good.

I won't run away and I'll do as I should.

I won't last much longer out here on my own..

I'm frightened and weak and so alone.

Please dear God, please answer my prayer,

And send me someone who'll really care.

- Signed, Any Stray, U.S.A.

Proverbs 12:10 The righteous man cares for the needs of his animal...

My wife is really tired of me bringing home every little stray kitten or puppy I see! But I just can't help myself.......

Once out on a construction site, a big piece of equipment killed a mama cat with 5 little kittens, removing an abandoned pipe. I saw the cat cut in half, but the little kittens 'mewing' about, and stopped the machine. All those rough, unshaven, old construction workers, stood around 'oohing' and the hardened old boys soon had found some milk in somebody's lunch, and were smiling and feeding the little kittens. The guys each chose their own little pet, and carried them with them the rest of the day, and took them home that night.

It was pretty touching......

Beautiful. Thank you for posting that. I am forever brininging home strays. My husband doesn't let me keep them, but I find no-kill shelters to take them to, or find them homes. One dog I found a few years ago ended up being pregnant. I found her an awesome home and the lady ended up finding homes for all the pups. Sad part is she was so skinny no one knew she was pregnant until she went into labor! Super sad but happy ending.

We adopted a stray dog that was found on the streets of Chicago. She was abused and scared. It took a year or so to convince her we would not abuse her. She is now a loving part of our family

Eric, you rock, bruh!

I adopted one of my 2 cats from a shelter. He was infested with critters, covered in hair balls and a mess! Geez, he was a mess!!!

I had to take him DIRECTLY to the vet and put in the kennel until they groomed and neutered him, treated the infestation and gave him his shots.

When I finally got him home, it was apparent he'd never seen a litter box before. It was real work getting this kitty socialized but I did.

Today, he's 18 lbs of "Garfield" and adorable. :noidea:

During the summer, the number of animals being euthanized at shelters is disturbing.

If ANYONE reading this can open their home to even ONE animal (cat or dog), I recommend the ASPCA.

Their national website is: ASPCA

If this post encourages even ONE single person to adopt a pet this year, this topic will have served it purpose.

For me, even ONE single pet being adopted is a great victory. Some think, "What's only ONE pet?"

I say, "It sure makes a difference to the one pet who's adopted!"

We have an adopted pet right now poodle/schnauzer..she is very old..vet thinks 10-12 years old...but she deserves her last years to be happy...I like to tell everyone that she adopted us, not us her ;)

I've adopted many pets through the years, Praise God my parents let me keep them :P Dad always said "welcome to animal house" It was not surprising if I had several at a time...my parents were always very agreeable to me keeping them til' I found someone willing to take them and love them...although more times than not I fell in love and kept them all to myself :emot-highfive: One year dad got me a queen size bed...cuz he said I looked cramped on the twin size with my furry critters. Cats at my head and dogs at my feet...I had to keep the goat outside :emot-highfive: No matter how much I told dad it was just like a dog he wouldn't let it sleep with me. :emot-highfive:

Love and Blessings,

Angel

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
