Leviticus 26:18" 'If after all this you will not listen to me, I will punish you for your sins seven times over.

Israel did not repent so punished 7 times more 7 times the remaining 360 years which equals 2,520 biblical years from 536 B.C. which equals 2,483.8 calendar years. 2,483.8 years minus 536.4 B.C. years equals 1,947.4 years A.D. There was no zero year from 1 B.C. to 1 A.D., so you add one more year which brings it to May 14, 1948. On May 14, 1948 the Jews proclaimed their independence and the rebirth of the nation of Israel.

Hey - that's pretty cool!

But would you please explain what you mean by "Biblical years" and "calander years" and all that?

Thanks!

Mind if I step in here???

First of all, biblical year has 360 days, and a calendar year has more and a leap year...thus, the conversion of Biblical years into calendar years.

Secondly, when Israel was released from captivity, God said that if they didn't repent and turn to Him, that they would be punished seven times more. Israel did not repent, and the majority of them stayed in babylon, thus, the dispersion, etc. God multiplied their remaining years of punishment (foretold by Jeremiah, etc.) by seven. Their punishement was due to come to a conclusion on may 14, 1948... and it did.

I may be wrong, but I believe that Grant Jefferies, the prophecy author, discovered this in the Word.

God bless.

How can we win the Jews over to Jesus when we keep showing them the same hatred that persecuted and killed them through the Inquisitions and through WWII?

The whole world is at enmity with God, not just "those Jews".

We Christians owe the Jews a debt of gratitude, for it was through them that our God came to this world as a man to be the sacrifice for our sin.

It is through the Jews that the Gospel first came to us. (Recall, Paul was a Jew - a Pharisee in fact).

If we don't undue the hatred that's been done to them, they will always see Jesus as their enemy. We've got to show them the truth - that He isn't their enemy, that' He's not a Gentile, that He didn't order their anihilation.

Jesus wept over His people's rejection of Him.

Do we weep over them as well? Or do we condemn them?

Trinity that is just amazing! I don't understand where all of the post against the Jews that followed it come from however.

God told them how long His punishment would last and thats how long it lasted, so whats the problem, he didn't say I will punish you into eternity for this offense, he said 7 times over. A prophecy fulfilled and yet all some people can do is say, so they got away with it???

Neb, I'm with you!

I am a Jew and I only owe One Jew everything. I owe those who reject Christ only what Christ says I owe them and that is to love them enough to tell them the truth in the hope that they will repent and believe the gospel. Is this wrong?

No, but it is wrong not to discern the signs of the times. Israel is back again, and God has restored them to their Land, not because they are righteous, as He is doing this to vindicate His own Name. It is prophesied that they will be restored to the Land in unbelief first, and then spiritually restored. Israel's existance cannot be explained any other way than a move of God. One only needs to study the history of the region going back about 100 years or so, to see that the emergence of Israel is itself a miracle, and even more so when you consider that they have in a mere 57 years not only maintained their existance but have become a leader in the world of science, technology, and medicine; not to mention becoming the fourth most powerful military in the world.

Your Problem Avenaue, is that you do not know the Scriptures. One day Jesus will return to Jerusalem and rule the world from there. How is it that you claim to be a believer and do not know this?

Israel's rebrirth is foretold in Ezekiel 36 and 37 and modern Israel is pictured for us Zechariah chapter 12. In both of these books we see the children of Israel being brought back to the Land in unbelief, and then afterwards the Messiah will restore them.

This makes hardly a drop of Abraham related blood left in any of us. So what is the point of believing anything other than the promises to Abraham were fulfilled in Christ. The promise was made to those of faith and it was delivered by the King to those of faith.

You are wrong. We who are Jews know that we are. You have already admitted to being a Jew. If there is no drop of Abraham related blood in us, then you lied by claiming to be a Jew. The truth is, that God has preserved us. I have the faith to believe that, I am sorry you are lacking the faith.

The promise made to Abraham by faith is eternal life, salvation. That is a totally different issue than the Land promises God made to Abraham.

You are just confused.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
