Yes, we are supposed to let him take care of that. If you kick me in the shin and I kick you back, I think we'd both be disciplined, so I'd be better off not retaliating, anyway.

it is the human heart that looks to the desire of harm to my enemy... "Father forgive them they know not what they do" is The Spirit I am to be of....

But then, if I kick you in the shin, you might kick me back so I won't do it again, don't you think?

Luke 18:8

8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
KJV

This verse could be used as an argument for Post Tribulation Rapture!

After the revealing of the Antichrist when the world follows him as God, only those truly grounded in the [Faith] which God gave unto them will hold onto that Faith until Christ returns.

Thanks, but you know it's gonna provoke some, they're going to complain, and you're going to end up messaging me about it despite my conscious effort not to intentionally provoke anyone. Especially if I express disagreement with the disagreements. Numeric balance is relevant, this is my home (for now), the war has already been won.... and the practice of proof-texting is lame and should be repudiated in favor of a more exegetical understanding of whole scripture. It's not personal but it will be perceived that way.

Just saying.

Chuckle--I get it. I really do.

Sometimes--although you and others are very careful--it does devolve to the personal.

The thing is--its just not necessary.

The TOS is there for very good reason....IMO

But, my opinion or yours are irrelevant. The TOS is Worthy scripture.

LOL

This is the second coming of Jesus. Your response to Jesus' return depends on your relationship with Him. It will either be the greatest calamity in all of human history or the fulfillment of the Blessed Hope.

The original question, the post prompting the current conversation cited Luke 18:8 asking, "Will the Son of Man find faith on the earth when he comes?" and given what else the scriptures tell us the question must be answered in the affirmative because 1) there is a pile of scripture telling us there will be faith, and 2) the implications of no-faith are inconsistent with the ontology of God and Christian Christology.

Perhaps a Pelagian might answer that question in the negative because they believe faith is a product of human volition but everyone else understand and agrees one way or another that faith comes from God, not man. God would have to be unfaithful to himself for faith not to exist. The righteous God Who commands righteousness would have to actively withhold righteousness and not permit faith. God would necessarily have to...... author sin!

"...whatever is not from faith is sin." (Rom. 14:23)

"All unrighteousness is sin..." (1 Jn. 5:17)

And since these things are impossible in human might we necessarily understand this is all God's doing. I'm not talking about determinism. I'm talking about God being God and consistent with Himself. The Bible is not about us. That's a human-centric view of the Bible. The Bible, from beginning to end, is about Jesus. Answering that question from a human-centric pov can and often does lead to problems.

don't you believe that this
Rom 10:17

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
KJV

is the avenue God installs within the hearts this faith? If so does not the intake of His Word place it upon human responsibility?
