Natural clocks are quite amazing, Recently I learned the big telescopes and the people who operate them use sidereal time to track a star in the night sky. sidereal time is a little less than exactly 24 hours.

Few other natural clocks the Big Dipper and North Star but that is observed backwards, there are pulsating stars, and atomic clocks based on an atom.

I love it when they are found on the mountain top in the closed position, meaning they were buried alive, and suddenly. Typically clams die with their shells open, but these were buried somehow while they were all alive. 

God made the mountains after the flood, as if a giant hand pushed up the floor of the sea, compressing it all like an accordion.

Thank you for this short statement on this thread. I'm adding my 2 cents.

I stopped in to read (and this has been going on for 3 months. I could not read thru all 67 pages of posts) because geology, anthropology, archeology, and the -ology's have always interested me. The word "theory" has always been first for me when I think about these controversial topics. I do appreciate all of the knowledge of those engaged here though! 

For me, since so many questions have NOT been scientifically proven or answered in 13 billion years (or 3 months) and people will discuss all of these kinds of theories until the end of time, I am moving off this hamster wheel to a thread that builds my spirit, not confuses my mind. You men can continue on if you feel this benefits your walk with the Lord. (Forgive me if there were women in parts of the discussion but I did not see any in the pages I read.)

We've been down this road before. I know the psalm you refer to, but your interpretation as a Flood/post-Flood retelling is a minority position, if not singular.

What it doesn't have is a structure that could last a year at sea.   Wouldn't be enough people aboard to bail it out.   Any wooden vessel that large, will flex and leak.   Wooden ships much smaller than that structure were constantly leaking and had full-time steam pumps to remove the water.

It's bigger than that.   The Himalayas are made of fossilized shells.    The entire continental shelves of two continents are shoved upward into mountains.    The process is still going on, as India moves into Asia at a measurable rate.
