Jesus didn't "become one with Satan," but He did descend into hell during the 3 days/3 nights. This has been covered in another thread.

Christ did say we would be like the angels in heaven:

Mark 12 25:

"For when they rise from the dead they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven."

Which of course is a lot different from being like God.

I don't like many of the televangalists for the same general reasons mentioned above. They don't seem biblically based and they seem to be really getting rich off basically selling the Word of God or their version of it.

I don't have a problem with ministers making a good wage in proportion to their responsibilities, but I would never think a true minister of God wold be getting remarkably wealthy off working in the Word of God. What I mean is that many Christians are wealthy and that is not sinning in any way as long as they use their wealth properly, but I find it totally different to become wealthy selling the Good News. In fact Paul mentions these people,

Timothy 6

"Useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself. Now Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing with these we shall be content."

How does that compare to what these guys are saying?

What do people think of James Dobson? I kind of like Focus on the Family and have used their resources for research, etc, he seems like a pretty straight shooter to me.

Anyone catch Rod Parsley on Larry King a couple nights ago? Larry asked him the same thing, about all the fancy hotel rooms and private airplanes and Rod told him that "A workman was worth his wages."

That TBN is a freak show, and I am not trying to desparage, but that is the only way I can describe it, it is such a black smear on the Name of the Holy one

Yes, and Jesus is powerless to run His own Body. If TBN is sooooo wrong, why doesn't Jesus do something about it, since all that is being done in His name?

God put that station there...that's why!

The false teachers are the ones telling everyone that God wants us poor, miracles have passed away, God wants you sick, etc.

There's your false teachings!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Do you honestly think Jesus is running TBN? Do you know what other things have been done in his name and were allowed? Crusades, Inquisitions, pograms,Holocaust, White supremists acts of violence and murder, shall I go on?

I guess you must think that Jesus is a false teacher too, as he said:

Matthew 19:16

And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

19:17

And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, G-d: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

19:18

He saith unto him, Which * Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

19:19

Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

19:20

The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

19:21

Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

19:22

But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had * great possessions.

Sounds quite the opposite of what Yeshua preached. As well the first "church" believed in this way of life too.

Acts 2

2:42

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

2:43

And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

2:44

And all that believed were together , and had all things common;

2:45

And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had * need. 2:46

And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

The fascinating thing is the simple volume of passages in the New Testament speaking of the dangers of seeking wealth, materialism and greed; it is not a minor topic throughout the bible. But then we have ministers simply ignoring that, I guess it just shows that regardless of what people say, even if they claim the bible, if their hearts want something they will find a way to get it.

I heard Fred Price say once that the problem with the New Testament church was that they took their eyes off of the money! How stupid can one be?

Posted

Say what?

Has anyone noticed if you ever watched any of the people they have on there, doesn' t matter which, male, female that they yell all the time? :Some turn to screaming at you?

But G-d isn't in the whirlwind he doesn't need to shake the foundations out from under you in stomping preachers around a podium( notice how many of them just can't stand still?) but rather G-d is in the still small voice, that speaks gently and lovingly, wooing you, not screaming at you,

Praise Jesus!!!! Somebody give me an AMEN! :21:

Yes, with that mindset he probably meant the 30 pieces of silver, probably thought it a tragedy Judas gave it back.

but when I look at these men I get the same feeling in the pit of my stomach as I get when I look at a picture of Freddy Krugar..

So I'm not the only one who thinks Copeland looks evil?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Me too. And his teaching is bad too. And not only that.... I was flipping channels one day (while we still had TV), and stopped to see what he was blathering about ... Well.. he was so proud of himself, he could hardly wait to tell all about the deal he made with his dad. It seems that his father liked the "little ole red truck" that he (K. Copeland) had. And K. let his dad drive it cause it made him so happy. The dad wanted to buy the truck from K. So here's the deal K. came up with "Dad, I'll trade you that little ole red truck for that acreage you have over there between you and me". And K. was so proud of himself that his father made this trade with him. Now, this wouldnt be anybody's business if he hadnt broadcast it over the airwaves for everyone to hear. But since he did, now it' a public matter, subject to opinions such as mine. And my opinion is that I dont know what land is worth in other parts of the country, but here where I live just one acre of land will sell for enough money to buy 5 brand new little red trucks. So I dont think I would be proud of myself about wheedling a trade like that. And thats all I have to say about that. :21:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
