Which day and hours is He speaking about, context is everything. For context:

32“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. 33So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. 34Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

So yes, you are totally correct missmuffet, Jesus will return again at His second coming, after the tribulation and gather His elect. If we do not add events to that which the Bible does not speak of, and observe who the thief in the night language is directed at (the unbelieving), then people will not be confused by popular notions which are not from the Bible, but from the imagination, inferring things which are not said.

 

 

 

 

The rapture of the Church and the second coming are two different events. At the rapture of the Church Jesus will not come to earth physically.
