. . .You're not supposed to know things that God does not want you
to know, and God obviously does not want you to know everything.

This fact --- that there are some secrets that God does not want you
to know --- is one major reason why "without faith it is impossible to
please God."

You must exercise faith because the truth is you will, for certain, live
out your life in the dark regarding the answers to many of your
questions "for now we see through a glass darkly."

"Have faith in God." ___The Lord Jesus Mark 11:22

"It is not for you to know"__The Lord Jesus Acts 1:7

"The secret things belong to God." __ Deut. 29:29

You heard about that cat, his name was Garfield, that died from curiosity.
So just say no to feline-inquisitiveness -- not even nine lives could save
Garfield. Besides if you knew everything you'd be as smart as God. You
don't want to be as smart as God, do you.

"My cerebrum is twitching", said Henry, "and I crave to know it all."
"But", muttered Henry's wife, "nobody likes a Know-It-All."

So give it up.

Henry's cerebrum said to Henry's cerebellum, "We both are pulsating vigorously
in anticipation as we crave to come to know all secrets."
"Wait a minute", spoke up Henry, "didn't you just hear that the secret things belong
to God. What's the matter with you two.

"Why do you speak to the people in parables?", asked Jesus' disciples.
Jesus replied, "Because the knowledge of the secrets of the Kingdom Of
Heaven has been given to you, but not to them."

Why not to them? Because they were the type of people that were "ever
learning but never perceiving . . . for this people's heart has become
calloused." Matthew 13:14-15

So we, you and I, do not want to choose to be like those calloused
people -- rather we want to choose to "have faith in God" and wait
patiently until we get to Heaven to have our questions answered.

But right now there are many secrets afoot.

However here is some good news . . . .
Not everything is a secret. Everything you need to know to get Eternal Life
has been made crystal-highly-transparent-glass-clear. And when you
die and enter Heaven you can then get into learning some really cool new
stuff big time. Just think what you could do with an enhanced brain in a
new glorified body with a new cranium happily housing your new glorified
network of neurons sparking along 24/7/365. Why you'd soon be as wise
as Solomon.

Back to secrets . . .

"It is no secret what God can do. ♫ ♫
What He's done for others, He'll do for you.
With arms wide open, He'll welcome you.
It is no secret what God can do." ♫ ♫

And it is no secret that "God so loved the world that He gave His one and
only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have Eternal Life."

So?

So we never have to experience the perish of John 3:16 for the Lord Jesus stands
at the door knocking and whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

That is true. There are some things God does not want us to know. Perhaps those who go to heaven will be informed there.

This is very true.  And at the same time, I'm sure you'd agree that there are many things that we don't know that God wants us to know.

  • Colossians 1:9, 10:  ". . .We have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God."
  • Psalm 51:6:  "Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in secret You will make wisdom known to me.."
  • Jeremiah 33:3:  "Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known."
  • Psalm 25:14:  "The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant."
  • Proverbs 2:3-6:  ". . .If you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.  For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding."
  • Matthew 7:7, 8:  “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened."

@JAG**

For me, I wouldn't want to know God's secrets as I have a hard enough time with some of the things that's right in front of me, and I've been studying over 40 years.

I will never know or understand everything that is in Gods word, that is so clear to others, so why would I burden myself with finding or trying to find "Secrets" that only belong to God???

I feel the same way. I know I need to study and learn the word. But  I realized I wasn't using much of what I had already learned.
Now I trust that God uses me to His will as I submit/abide, with what I do know. Real trust comes in to play.
Gaining more and more knowledge about God is wise, yet a willingness to submit, to abide, being aware of His presence, for me seems like wisdom.   And I have a better/fuller understanding
of  the scripture;    "If you love me keep my commandments"

As one intensifies their efforts to know God through His Word the answer becomes more clear the purity in the everlasting is to release all that is now from importance and cling to the promise of what will be then (and that is not revealed 1Cor 2:9)... it fulfills what God has promised

John 3:3

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
KJV

Mark 10:14-15

14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
KJV

Actually a true believer desires to understand the secrets or  " hidden wisdom" ordained by God " unto our glory" ( 1Cor. 2:7).

@Walter Goraj jr

Actually, a true believer understands these verses below and their meaning in the context they are spoken, so they can be applied properly to their lives.

Deuteronomy 29:29 29The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, so that we may follow all the words of this law.

Mark 13:32
But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.

Proverbs 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter,
But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

Daniel 12:9
He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time.

Conversely God said;

Amos 3:7
Surely the Lord God does nothing
Unless He reveals His secret counsel
To His servants the prophets.

Ephesians 1:9
He made known to us the mystery (Secrets) of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him (Jesus).

In the above the quoted verses, they seem to contradict each other, but if you study the topic out, you'll find that God wishes for us to know some "secrets" which as you study this topic out,  you'll find God is referring to Him revealing the secrets of hidden meanings to be found in His  word already revealed, but not understood by many.

But then there are things of God never to be revealed to us!

Mark 13: 32 No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

What I was referring to was verses like the one directly above and the "private things of God", never to be revealed to man.

God bless

My name is Arrabon.

Surely there must be an explanation. What do you think?

@Walter Goraj jr

First of all, it shows me that God and Jesus are separate entities, but still one. How does that work? It's a secret!

One of those "Secrets", like Mary being a "virgin" when Jesus was born. That's a secret!

How did he create the earth and the entire solar system??

How did He part the Red Sea?

How did He create the flood during Noah's time?

How did He create mankind?

We're on a need to know basis with God, and there's a lot we don't need to know - "Its called FAITH."
