Less than a year ago I was sitting in my Marketing Class in school and the teacher was talking about how one day we are going to a cashless system where people will use their fingerprints or their retnas in order to buy and sell, but he said that we were not ready for that yet even though the technology was there. I had no idea we had advanced that far, but he still felt it was far off in the future before we, as a nation, would be ready for that step.

Is it just me, or does anyone else notice how fast technology is moving and has moved just in the last year? Things I thought were way off in our future are here now and moving at a very fast pace. Everything seems to be going so fast. Do you feel it? It's as though we are spinning out of control.

Have you also noticed the increase of stories about gays in the church? We just had one here in SC in little Rock Hill where a church in the York Baptist Association was allowing gays to be members and to serve in leadership positions in their church and the pastor was even promoting the gay agenda. The Association kicked the church out of the association, or at least the committee is recommending they be kicked out and it has been in our newspapers and there has been much controversy over it. Some of the younger, more contemporary churches are saying they will leave the association, too, because they think all people should be allowed to be church members and to be able to serve within the church.

Anyway, it's not just the ID thing, but it is the moral decline, and it is, well, everything in our world right now that is pointing to a soon return of Christ. It does not take much of an imagination to see that we are ripe for the rise of the antichrist and the seven years of tribulation. And, the world is heating up by the moment.

But, instead of being afraid, we should be prepared for whatever God brings our way and we should be listening to what God is saying and hear from him as to what our responses should be to all these news stories. The signs are here. He is coming soon!

Sue,

You are so right. With everything going on, the gay agenda, the economy, war, terrorism, the price of gas, etc..it seems like everything is going haywire.

I have the feeling something really big is going to happen soon. And it really creeps me out, if you know what I mean. I just don't know if I'm ready for all this.

In Christ,

Caroline,

I know what you mean. It is really mind-boggling to think about the ramifications of all of this, but one thing God has been teaching me is that he is Sovereign and he is over all and is in all things and he is in complete control. I rest in HIM. When I think realistically about what is sure to come, I almost wish I was a pre-trib rapture enthusiast - get me out of here before it gets worse!! But, I know God has brought me to this time in history for a reason and I believe he has a job for me to do. I know that what is facing us is not like anything we have ever experienced in our lifetime nor is it something than we could possibly imagine. And, I know that me, in myself, could not endure this. But, God has promised to give me everything I need.

My husband and I were watching a documentary the other day on Hiroshima and I was thinking, "this could be us next," and it was really scary to think we might have to go through something like that, but it is inevitable that the way our world is going that it is going to self-destruct one way or another. Things are not looking good for the "home team." I've been asking the Lord to show me how he wants me to pray. I pray for revival and I pray for a great harvest of souls, but honestly I have great difficulty praying for our nation to be spared if God's judgments are going to be what brings us as a nation to our knees. I've often prayed for people, "Lord, whatever it takes, please bring this person back to you," so I wonder if we should be praying that kind of prayer for our nation, and if so, are we really willing for "whatever it takes"?

My heart is sick over the condition of our nation, and especially The Church. So many false teachers have crept among us and are deceiving even the elect, if that were possible. I pray for God to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, but I believe God is going to have to do what he had to do with Israel many times and that is he is going to have to give America a swift kick in the rear in order to bring her to her knees.

I don't know that any of us can truly be ready for what is going to happen, but God can give us what we need when we need it if we put our trust in HIM.

Sue,

You're right in that we are closer to the return of Jesus than most people realize. As far as technology goes, it may interest you that technology is much farther advanced that we realize. The "new" gadgets that come out on the market are actually "old". Technological advances that are being held back right now would stagger people's minds.

I almost wish I was a pre-trib rapture enthusiast - get me out of here before it gets worse!!

I take exception to this statement however. Not everyone who is Pre-Trib feels this way. Many who don't believe in it have made the Pre-Trib theory out to be an "escape plan" made up by those who believe it. Unfortunately there are those who feel that way, but it's due to their lack of understanding or spiritual maturity.

There are those of us that know it's not an "escape plan". It does not negate our responsibilities while we're here. Since this isn't the topic of the thread, I'll digress, except to say that no matter whether the return of Jesus is Pre/Post Trib, I am willing to accept. My prayer is to be prepared for either one.

Sorry, Keith, I meant that lightly. I was not inferring that those that believe in pre-trib see it as an "escape plan." What I was trying to say is, even though I believe the Lord has shown me that we will still be here for at least part of the tribulation, there is a part of me, when faced with the reality of it, that hopes I am wrong. When I watched the documentary on Hiroshima, it made it so real to me. I put myself in their place and a part of me hoped that the Lord will come back before it gets to that in the USA, but I don't get the message from the Lord that he will remove us before things get a whole lot worse. So, my comment had to do with my own internal struggle between facing the reality of what we are most likely going to suffer in the days and years to come and what my own flesh desires in not wanting to have to suffer that much. I hate pain!! :brightidea:

I agree, too, that I am willing to accept whatever God decides to do and how he decides to do it, but I must admit my humaness in that I struggle with it sometimes and I have to continually submit my will to God and trust him that he knows what is best for me. I am ready for whatever he wants, and where I am not ready, I trust that he will give me the strength I need at the time I need it.

Sue, Thanks for the words of encouragement.  Your words are just what I needed to hear.  I know God is in control; but I get discouraged at times,  when I look around and see the things going on all around us.  I need to be reminded and encouraged to keep my focus on Him, not on the coming storm.

In Christ,

CarolineS

You are welcome!! And, yes, you are so right!! We all need to get our eyes off the storm and keep them focused on our Lord. And, we need to encourage one another daily so that we can all continue to do that. Thanks so much for sharing that.

Unless of course you take the radical step of using your legs (either to walk or cycle) and public transport a bit more. Ive never been that convinced by the motorists right to both pollute the air I breathe, or threaten my existence by driving dangerously, without being subjected to public controll and scrutiny.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
