I did not find this myself and I must give credit to the person who runs www.raptureready.com. I read this on his website.

Anyway, Islam claims that the angel Gabriel came from heaven and gave Muhammed the truth. But lets see what the Bible has to say about this. Galatians 1:8-9 says:

"But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!"

So we see that it is possible that something supernatural may have happened to Muhammed. He was always an honest person or so Islamic tradition tells us. However, the scriptures say that even if an angel should appear and tell of a gospel other than what Jesus taught, that the angel and the man be condemned. If an angel truly did appear, I doubt it was Gabriel since God seems to always look upon him with favor. However, it could've been another angel or Satan himself. If it was another angel, we can assume he was cast down and condemned.

Well said, it is possible. To add to the thread:

Gen 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

The name of God is incapsulated within the name of Hagar's son:

God will hear. El will hear. NOT, Al will hear. Who in the Bible has a name which contain the letters 'al'? Is it Ba-al?

Ironically enough Paul was talking about Jews but it still stressed the importance of the Gospel. So while not talking about Islam (it wasn't around yet) it does apply to Islam.

As for what Sail said, ignore it. Allah in Arabic is "God" in English. Christian Arabs say Allah in reference to the Christian God. "Allah" in Arabic is not exclusive to the muslim god.

Persecutions of the Albigenses

The Albigenses were a people of the reformed religion, who inhabited the country of Albi. They were condemned on the score of religion in the Council of Lateran, by order of Pope Alexander III. Nevertheless, they increased so prodigiously, that many cities were inhabited by persons only of their persuasion, and several eminent noblemen embraced their doctrines. Among the latter were Raymond, earl of Toulouse, Raymond, earl of Foix, the earl of Beziers, etc.

A friar, named Peter, having been murdered in the dominions of the earl of Toulouse, the pope made the murder a pretense to persecute that nobleman and his subjects. To effect this, he sent persons throughout all Europe, in order to raise forces to act coercively against the Albigenses, and promised paradise to all that would come to this war, which he termed a Holy War, and bear arms for forty days. The same indulgences were likewise held out to all who entered themselves for the purpose as to such as engaged in crusades to the Holy Land. The brave earl defended Toulouse and other places with the most heroic bravery and various success against the pope's legates and Simon, earl of Montfort, a bigoted Catholic nobleman. Unable to subdue the earl of Toulouse openly, the king of France, and the queen mother, and three archbishops raised another formidable army, and had the art to persuade the earl of Toulouse to come to a conference, when he was treacherously seized upon, made a prisoner, forced to appear barefooted and bareheaded before his enemies, and compelled to subscribe an abject recantation. This was followed by a severe persecution against the Albigenses; and express orders that the laity should not be permitted to read the sacred Scriptures. In the year 1620 also, the persecution against the Albigenses was very severe. In 1648 a heavy persecution raged throughout Lithuania and Poland. The cruelty of the Cossacks was so excessive that the Tartars themselves were ashamed of their barbarities. Among others who suffered was the Rev. Adrian Chalinski, who was roasted alive by a slow fire, and whose sufferings and mode of death may depict the horrors which the professors of Christianity have endured from the enemies of the Redeemer.

Here is a quote from the book John Foxe's Book of Martyrs chapter 5, Papal Persecutions. I found this by mistake; I was looking for something else.

When I read this I was appalled that this idea of holy war began with the Popes of roman Catholicism. It was a travesty of justice to the people of Islam that this idea of Holy War and paradise was created by the same people who had many of the great men, like John Hus and William Tyndale put to death. Men who stood for truth, whether it cost them their lives or not. We sit back and sheepishly join hands with this power and saying all is forgiving. But it cannot be. Too much blood; innocent men, women and children have been savagely murdered while they lay asleep. Some were torched and burned; Women were gutted open like pigs; some had their unborn child ripped from the womb, only to perish in the flames. If this is too hard for you read...well, remember...I didnt write it, John Foxe did. YOu can read it too.

This same power claims to be out for the good of all men. When in essence, its out for its own good. Always have been. If they could got a hold of Luther, they would have killed him too.

Now look at us modern Christians, so far from God that in fact we allow openly gay ministers to minister in the CHURCH. What a shame to slap the Lord in the face. What a shame!!!! to call ourselves Christians. What is needed..is a revivial of truth. No more compromises to sin. No more compromises for those who want to live outside the truth in the bible. If the gay people dont like what the bible says about homosexuality....GET OVER IT and change your life. Your are as lost as well those who commit sins, such as gossiping, adultry, fornication, lying, stealing and murder.. All those who commit such things are sinners and ultimately will be burned up at the end. God is calling the world back to repentance...He will not accept your worship as long as you live and breathe contrary to his already spoken word of the bible. It is time for christians to be christ like; to hate sin, to love God more and to begin the process of changing their lives as the Holy Spirit gives them the power to do so. NO more...I declare war on SIN.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Paul was using an example. Religious Jews were telling the Galatians that they need to follow the law and have faith in order to be saved. Paul was saying that if a contrary Gospel is taught, it doesn't matter who is teaching it, they are wrong.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
