The OP and the discussion was edifying until you arrived to deliver a reproach that doesn't make any sense. Who exactly are you reproaching?

@Marathoner

WOW.. What is going on here with the Caustic comments, almost attacks by YOU and ALIVE? Are you trying to run her off by slamming her opinions? You don't know everything !!!!!!!!!

I thought you and Alive were LOVING, KIND brothers in the LORD.

You may not agree with her where she is in here faith and belief, but we are all at different places and just because you don't agree doesn't mean your right in your opinions either.

How do you justify your unloving and unkind BALIGERANT comments. I AM SHOCKED!! This is terrible!!!

1 Corinthians 13:13

 "But now faith, hope, and love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love."

1 Corinthians 13

The Excellence of Love

13 If I speak with the tongues of mankind and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may [a]glory, but do not have love, it does me no good.

4 Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant. 5 It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered, 6 it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails;

My friend, nothing I wrote in my response to @electlady was caustic nor an attack. You're welcome to report my post if you believe that is the case. In any event, why would I want to "run anyone" off? You presume evil intentions on the part of another, accusing me of something I didn't do and never intended to do.

Is this not a discussion? Others haven't understood my contributions on the forum at times and I never construed their responses to me as caustic nor attacks, efforts to chase me away nor silence me. If for whatever reason we couldn't arrive at a mutual understanding the discussion was over, plain and simple. I'm not in the habit of engaging in personal attacks against other members so my conduct speaks for itself, Arrabon. Does this mean I'm perfect? Of course not!

Can I be misunderstood? Yes, just as I misunderstand others from time to time. I didn't understand our sister and her treatment of scripture didn't add up; it seemed as if she were reproaching someone and so I inquired about that. Have I misunderstood her? Clearly!

There's nothing to be alarmed about because situations like these happen on occasion, my friend. None of us are perfect yet. :)

@Marathoner

Brother I appreciate your response VERY MUCH :thumbsup:, and yes none of us are perfect brother, but how you spoke to her was much stronger than you realize and I think you owe her an apology for how you responded to her. Not for what you said, but for how you said it.

It's Great to defend Christ and His word, as long as it's done in love.

Love TRUMPS EVERYTHING.

Much love in Christ,

Your brother Arrabon

There is an Hebrew expression which is peculiar to the Book of Ecclesiastes and is used twenty-nine times. It is the expression "under the sun" which is the equivalent to "upon the earth" and is connected with earthly things, i.e. that which is material and of the flesh. The man who then "walks under the sun" is the man who walks according to the flesh and its desires and wants. It is to that man, the adam who walks under the sun, to whom the Book of Ecclesiastes is written.

I didn't feel reproached, sister, which is why I inquired about that. It struck me as a reproach to no one in particular but that's fine, clearly I misunderstood and I apologize for any confusion this has brought you and others who are reading the topic. I'm far from perfect and this isn't the first time I've fallen short and missed the boat, so to speak.

I don't agree with your interpretation of scripture in this matter but then this happens in the course of iron sharpening iron, though I do see merit in your view of "under the sun." I'll meditate upon that and consider it. :)

I'm sorry that you felt attacked and that's not good at all, so I will pay closer attention to my words so they won't come across in such a way. Sometimes it's better to say (write) nothing; that way, I won't find myself with a foot in my mouth!

I do hope you can forgive me, @electlady

was edifying until you arrived?  Especially after what had already been a fairly severe lashing for a perceived offence.  That is the part that would have hurt my feelings anyhow.

I appreciate the exhortation, my friend. I was in the process of doing just that. I hope our sister will understand I see how I'm the guilty party and so the rebuke is well received, brother. Sure, correction might not be pleasant when it's received but it's worth enduring! The alternative is much worse. The Lord bless you and I'm thankful for your part in this Arrabon.

I admitted that I was wrong and misunderstood our sister, my friend. Unfortunately seeing as how this is an internet forum, all we may rely upon is words here. I edited that post and have confessed my mistake for all to see. Fitting, because I committed the error for all to see, yes? Yes, I did.

I love this topic on enjoying life, especially if we have had to endure those times when life is harsh and the trials come sometimes like a sucker punch, and knocks us off "OUR PINS", and sometimes can last for years or even decades.

We can be grateful for these following verses that can continue to give us hope and comfort, when there's times we want to just give up.

"Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God."

"Ecclesiastes 2:24-25 So I decided there is nothing better than to enjoy food and drink and to find satisfaction in work. Then I realized that these pleasures are from the hand of God. For who can eat or enjoy anything apart from him?"

 "Ecclesiastes 5:18 Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat, drink, and enjoy their work under the sun during the short life God has given them, and to accept their lot in life."

I've has to endure some serious trials several times, and love these encouragements from God to enjoy life when when I was trying to rebound from past personal issues.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
