I'll begin by posting mine here-We are in the process of upgrading our Audio and video systems there. Hopefully soon they will have everything dialed in better. The music sounds a little different live because the nature of a broadcast feed cuts the bass.. Some growing pains are probably to be expected for at least the next month or so.

Hi Starise,

Thank you for posting your video. I have listened to some of it, and thought the speaker did well. He especially focused on our heart and what what we are doing under God. I noticed he included that preachers can also be caught up in making a name for themselves.

Then at the end he addressed the parents exhorting them to guide their children with God`s word otherwise the world will.

Well done. And may I say that I appreciated that the speaker did not prance around the platform but gave due respect to presenting God`s word with due reverence.

regards Marilyn.

Thanks Marilyn for your comments. This pastor has a background you would probably not associate with a pastor. He played football in college, has an extensive background in the military in leading special forces in Africa. Continues to be part of the on call national guard. Worked for a law firm prior to ministry. Then the Lord called him into ministry so he attended seminary and was associate pastor at a church in Savannah Georgia.  The Lord called him to our area to be a full time head pastor. One of his gifts is teaching. He is very family focused.

This church has had a very interesting history. It was accidentally set on fire and burned down once and was rebuilt. I am a newcomer about a year here.

Since he arrived we have changed a lot about the building itself. Lots of old things were removed or replaced. We are going into the tech end of things more. All of those decisions are made by a group of trusted men and women.

In the end though it all has more to do with the men themselves and their character or lack thereof. I would say Michael is the real deal. There are no perfect men but he is a fine person. Who else would invite you to their home for an evening meal when their 4 kids have school the next day on a Sunday after all of the pressure of a service? This is what he and his wife did for me and my wife.

One of my new responsibilities there is helping with the video stream. The system uses two large mixing boards, an Allen Heath SQ-6 and an SQ-7 . For video we have a separate camera system controlled by yet another person or persons and another person working overlay graphics from a mac. One board only mixes the outside feed while the other board is the FOH ( front of house) board. In addition to checking the stream at the mixing station we can go to a monitor mounted in a room close by to see what the stream looks and sounds like.

With this tech there is always opportunity for something to go wrong aside from the more common problems like people not getting close enough to the mic or using the wrong mics for an application. We attempt to iron out all of these things by having a rehearsal  with the Worship and tech teams a few days before the service. The nice thing about these mixing boards is we can route the band into a group and mute the entire group while the sermon is taking place. This reduces sound issues that can happen when you have a bunch of open mics on stage cumulatively collecting surrounding noise.

Unfortunately on Sunday we had a buffering problem due to a slow internet connection. We send feeds out to FB and YouTube usually in 1080p. The buffering issue caused us to loose the first 15 minutes of the service. People who work the boards only hear and see the stream before it goes out to the various social platforms. The only way we knew there was an issue is when someone who had it up on YouTube reported it to us. The fix was to reduce the resolution from 1080 to 720. That seemed to fix it. Prior to this the connection had always supported 1080p. So in this weeks service you'll hear a bunch of audio issues at the beginning.

One of our members had a good suggestion that would help solve several of these issues. We have an announcement screen that comes up with no audio right before the service. It was observed that many users aren't sure if they are getting audio correctly at the beginning of the feed because you don't hear anything. I suggested adding music so people are aware they have audio that's working. Adding music has been a problem because FB cuts any feed that detects copyrighted music, even if the copyright is displayed on the visuals. I had an ah ha moment and suggested I could add music to it that I produce in my studio that isn't copyrighted. This idea has approval under the condition the WL hears it first ( I guess he doesn't entirely trust what I might put up).  I see potential for some clash here with respect to what he likes and wants and what I would put up. I am somewhat concerned he simply will reject something because he doesn't like it personally. I dunno, I must have 5K worth of mixing software with tons of software instruments. If he rejects my hard work it's going to be difficult not to get a little upset over it. Not to mention I am a volunteer doing all of it for free. I do it for the Lord. Prayers appreciated. Not long ago I made a notation representation of a choir piece we were singing that had computer parts singing the voices. Must have taken me 3 or 4 hours to make. I did it to help because the choir couldn't get a grasp on the intentions of the composer.

There were one or two very small errors in the notation, like maybe a 1/2 beat that I needed to change to make it perfect. While I could have made it perfect, the WL just dismissed using it. I'll admit that after all of that hard work having it thrown in the can wasn't a very uplifting or encouraging experience.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
