Where in the Bible was there EVER given the OKAY to have multiple wives? And, where in the Bible was there ever given the order/command NOT TO anymore? And no, I'm not a Mormon. But what if a man claims he's not committing these sins OUTSIDE of the relationship with his three wives? One man, one woman. He never meant for their to be more than one wife per hubby. If you notice, the first person to have more than one wife was from the line of Cain. Ive often wondered if that too was an indication that it isnt what God intended.

So we know there were folks in the Old Testament that had multiple wives like say, Jacob. But where does it say that it [multiple wives] has been outlawed? AND where is the INDICATION that it was allowed or okayed in the first place? Just some thoughts- and no, I don't want multiple wives. And IF and WHEN I do remarry- trust me, it'll be with one only. For example- with lust!

Just because Jacob, David, etc...had more than one wife doesn't mean that it was in God's perfect will. They, although greatly chosen and used by God and men of great faith in God, were sinners. They made mistakes. I don't believe God ever intended more than one wife. God bless.

Noah and Abraham had only one wife, but as the years went on, David, Solomon, Jacob, and others had multiple wives. But in Timothy it does say that a bishop is to have one wife. Church doctrine and secular laws in some countries forbid bigamy, but I am not aware as to when it changed to only one wife. Besides, (begins to duck) who could stand having more than one wife anyway...
