“The truth is, you must accept God’s kingdom like a little child accepts things, or you will never enter it.””

“Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.”

Children are not preoccupied with the same things that adults are, things that would be difficult to forgo and so cause reluctance to accept God's Kingdom.

A child is much more accepting of things they cannot see, and that's what most people focus on.

But I think it is as much, if not more, about the helplessness of children. The Greek word for children (paidion) in this passage often refers to the youngest of children. Think of toddlers; we must admit our utter dependence on Christ, just as toddlers are utterly dependent on their parents to provide for their every need. We cannot, to any degree, save ourselves, or offer anything worthy to God on our own.

I find that a hard question to answer. Maybe it's because children are humbler than adults.

I don't know how to do that. Even as a child I constantly asked, "why?" It drove my father crazy. Hopefully our Heavenly Father is more patient.

@Hopefully

Children are innocent and accept life as it comes, because they don't know any better. They have no fear most of the time because their parents love them, and do all they can to make the children's life safe.

When we grow up, we must learn that all over again with our heavenly father, because life for many of us isn't safe anymore, and we must learn to let God be in control, and for many of us that is a challenge almost beyond us sometimes.

For me, very difficult as for many, but God is there to help us learn, and find peace.

To be a Christian disciple is to understand that we have a parent - child relationship with our Father.

And we communicate with him in childlike simplicity when we pray in tongues.

By being humble

Not to proud to express our need and dependence on God

1 Peter 5:

5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for

“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”

6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Nothing wrong with asking why. That's just a desire to understand God and his will more, not a doubting of him.

Ask yourself; are you doubting God, or do you trust Him but just recognize that you don't fully understand and want to?
