I am looking for scripture that has to do with 'the bride of Christ'.   I still don't understand how a body can marry itself but am still in the middle of this journey and looking for more.

How I see it is and where I am so far is,
Man and woman marry, become one flesh.
Man in faith through grace becomes a part of the 'many membered body', one with Christ

LIKE A 'marriage', kinda,  but not.

Also,  I gathered on this marriage/bride of Christ thing so far is

The time of the MARRIAGE it is easy to see it comes

after the lake of fire,
after ALL have been judged,
after all evil has been done away with and
AFTER THE SECOND DEATH.

O
nly those who have received their IMMORTALITY are left.  God will begin dwelling with us and we will be living in the new heaven and new earth age and IT IS THEN THE MARRIAGE TAKES PLACE.  After Christ's return, After Satan is bound, After all who are alive and remain are changed, After the Millennium, After Satan is loosed, After the final war, After the great white throne judgment, After the lake of fire, After this earth and heaven age have become a thing of the past.

Just thought I should get that out of the way first. BUT, IF THERE IS ANOTHER MARRIAGE AT ANOTHER TIME, PLEASE SCRIPTURE ME WITH IT.

BEST READ in GODS WORDS

And I saw a great white throne
and HIM that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away
and there was found no place for them.
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God
and the books were opened
and another book was opened which is the book of life
and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to their works.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them
and they were judged every man according to their works.
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away and there was no more sea.
And I John saw THE HOLY CITY, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and HE will dwell with them, and they shall be HIS people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain

FOR THE FORMER THINGS ARE PASSED AWAY.

And HE that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
And HE said unto me, IT IS DONE.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

(NOW FOR SOME INSTRUCTIONS TO US ON HOW TO GET THERE)
He that overcometh shall inherit all things and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
(AND WHO YOU DON'T WANT TO BE)
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride the Lamb's wife.
And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.

I HAVE EVEN HEARD SOME SAY THEY BELIEVE WE ARE THAT CITY, SO I THOUGHT THAT SHOULD ALSO BE CLEARED UP AT THIS TIME ALSO.  CONTINUING ON WITH GODS WORDS...

And I saw no temple therein for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

And the city had no need of the sun neither of the moon to shine in it for the glory of God did lighten it and the Lamb is the light thereof.

And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day for there shall be no night there.

And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth neither whatsoever worketh abomination or maketh a lie but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Since you can't be it and enter into it at the same time, nuff said there.

No need to Rapture before tribulation for a marriage
because as Gods words say

no marriage EVEN TAKES PLACE until the new heaven and earth and that is after this and the Millennium and lake of fire.

We need to go through tribulation because

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Ephesians 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

Ephesians 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Ephesians 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

Ephesians 5:29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

Ephesians 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

Ephesians 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

Ephesians 5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

And found this which seems to say the same thing about being made one with an added 'be faithful' not deceived.

2 Corinthians 11:1 Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.

2 Corinthians 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

2 Corinthians 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

2 Corinthians 11:5 For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.

2 Corinthians 11:6 But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.

Just in case.... Thanks D

Look no further than the verses from Revelation you have already shared, @DeighAnn, for the bride is identified as New Jerusalem come down from God. This will come to pass after the enemies are destroyed (the last being Death) and the former things pass away. I'm aware of all manner of strange teachings regarding the Body and the holy city, none of which are expressed in the scriptures. We are not the holy city but we shall indeed be part of His marriage, for we are in Christ and therefore joint heirs: He grants us to sit with Him upon His throne. Our place in Him is ever so clear. :)

That is the problem isn't it?  People teaching a pre trib rapture for a wedding not even taking place for a minimum of 1000 years and at a time when the whole 'body' is not even present and going against all the ways the words of God tell us God works.  BUT thank you for the reply.  I was wondering what would come from the asking and didn't really think it would get any replies at all.

The Church is the Bride of Christ and, of this union, we have the Body of Christ, where Jesus is the Head and the Church, the body.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
