Hebrews 4:3a (NASB20)
For we who have believed enter that rest, …………………………………

          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Belief and rest go hand in hand in scripture, for a proper belief produces a rest in God which the heart itself can know by experience….
But just what exactly is this proper belief that produces this joy of the heart that the heart itself can taste and know about? This joy that is said to never cease, but to grow and become deeper, more real, more vivid, so of a truth, it can be called the joy of the heart?….
Faith in what produces such a joy?
Before this question can be answered it must be understood that all truths are expressed by words, but those words are not the experiencing of that truth…  And only by the experiencing of a truth can one experience the fruit of that truth… That being said, the answer is;
The replacement of oneself with Christ… For wherever Christ is, joy is, if one has no joy it is because something else has the heart other then Christ…
This is the answer, but it does perplex the heart that has no experiencing of this truth.. For only by the experiencing of a truth, can one know that truth, otherwise it will remain just words printed on a page…
So how does one experience this truth?
By being willing to enter into death to be freed from oneself… For death ends all things of this life and death is what Christ brought to man, that man would be raised to a newness of life when Christ Himself was raised… For as Christ had to go through both a death and resurrection, the believer himself must go through their own death and resurrection… Which has all been done and purchased for man and given to man as a free gift of salvation… Which salvation can only be enjoyed by the experiencing of it…
Believing into one’s salvation is as simple as believing into the truth that when Christ died one died, that regardless of all outward things, whether pleasing or not pleasing one maintains the faith of the heart that says;
Galatians 2:20 (NASB20)
“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the long and short of experiencing and entering into the rest of God… The life that takes this scripture to heart and mixes this scripture with faith, will in a very short order experience a joy of the heart that will cause the heart itself to jump with joy….

Oh the joy of; not I but Christ…

Be blessed all in the experiencing…

I suggest you understand what the term "rest" means, and when I say that, I mean from at least the Greek and then the Hebrew. Your philosophy is not in line with the meanings of rest. Not only rest but when to rest as the two go hand in hand. The Bible is it's own dictionary the Greek word for rest in the verse you are using in Hebrews 4:3a is καταπαυσις katapausis - In the Greek Septuagint which is the Greek translation of the Hebrew scriptures it is often used for the Hebrew word מנוחה menuwchah. Many times connected to the 7Th day Sabbath rest as in

NKJ Exodus 35:2 "Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh day shall be a holy day for you, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death.

So if you go back and get the context of the verse quoted Heb 4:3a which would be the start of Heb 4, then at least the rest of the chapter but to be more prudent the context would be the whole book of Hebrews. Heb 4:3 is quoting Psalm 95:11 read the whole Psalm for context. Then next verses in Heb 4:4-5 connects the rest to the 7th day Sabbath. This passage is linking the Messianic reign of Messiah and beyond that eternal life to the same rest as those who rest on the Sabbath.

Look at the name of the Book it was written to Hebrew people. They all knew what the rest related too. Not some philosophical westernized English jargon, redefining what the Biblical rest is.

I also suggest you look more deeply into the other word you quoted being belief again from Greek and Hebrew.

Shalom

Thank you, Not me

I'm no Bible Scholar, but the Holy Spirit in me bore witness that you just said something deep, and I wanna chew on this some more. Wow, what does it mean to be crucified with Messiah (Christ.) HalleluYah! After decades, I'm finally beginning to realize what it means to totally Trust and Rely on the Power that can only come from Heaven, By The Mighty and Powerful Holy Spirit, and NOT by my own effort and ability.

HalleluYah! Who is Yeshua (english=Jesus)? For what purpose did He come to earth? Did He accomplish His Purpose? We never asked the Father to send His Son to save us, He did this of His own accord, because He loved us!

Where is the Power of what He has done, ALL BY HIMSELF? Where is the Victory that Master Yeshua purchased with His Priceless Blood? A, ***GIFT*** because of His Wonderful Grace?

I'm through with trying to get somewhere, when the truth is, HE DID IT, HIS RIGHT HAND AND HIS HOLY ARM HATH GOTTEN HIM THE VICTORY! I AM THAT I AM, A NEW CREATION IN CHRIST.

His Word is True, and NOTHING ELSE IS. Who can understand this:  That The Old Man Was Crucified With Christ?

My mirror can't, but my Faith can, If Only, I would BELIEVE IN WHO YESHUA.... IS.

I AM is the Power of my life. HalleluYah! Who can SEE this? I rise above, By FAITH in what is ALREADY FINISHED.

If ONLY I will ***BELIEVE*** then I would see, the Power of Almighty Yehovah.

And now I see that the Victory that overcomes the world and sin, Is My Faith, and not ME trying to get rid of sin.

I'm so excited about just simply looking to Him, no matter what I need help with, I just go to Him, my Abba Father. I have been asking every day, that He would increase my Faith, and teach me how to trust Him, like a little child. I feel like shoutin because He's answering me, and I'm in awe.

I feel relieved of a great burden of TRYING to overcome, rather than TRUSTING.

Surely, the Kingdom is for the Kids. We have to become like little children to make it to Heaven.

I must acknowledge the Holy Spirit, my Helper, my Guide, Who dunn Edified Me Good!!  Building me up on my most HOLY FAITH, thru hours upon hours of prayer, without ceasing.

Thank you again, Not me, for sharing something profound.

Shalom, Edward

Thanks, it blesses me that it blessed you… Thanks again and your welcome…

From your writings it is plain you are listening to the Christ in you… This, as you are being directed inwardly is what you are to listen and give great heed to, this inward speaking of God’s Spirit in you…  For it will teach you all you need to know, but even more and deeper then you can even dream.. Keep that heart for there is always a deeper revealing of Himself in you that is yours if, as you are learning, if you will continue to trust and look to Him in all things…

If I can help with this mystery of what it means to be dead in Christ, let me pose a question..

What is the one way you could be absolutely guaranteed to never ever sin, from right this moment, to forever going forward?

There is but one way and that way is if you were to fall down dead right this instant… For if you were to die you would be instantly freed from all the influences of this world.. The influences themselves would be still very much alive but you could not respond to them because you were dead…

This is the freedom we have in Christ, we have died and our lives are hid with Christ in God…

It is believing this truth, regardless of any outward things, that will produce this walking in newness of life scripture speaks of.. For as you have tasted inwardly all things come from God by faith, including growing in Him…

Hope this helps a bit, for knowing and believing into one’s death in Christ will bring this being established in Christ scripture speaks of where , you know you know Him and you know He knows you…

Be blessed in knowing Him more and more each and every day…

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
