Monday 11-29-21 Kislev 23, 5782 2nd. day of the weekly cycle, 69th. Fall Day

Daniel 3:13-18 ¹³Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king. ¹⁴Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?

¹⁵Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?

¹⁶Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. ¹⁷If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. ¹⁸But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Daniel 3:25-27

²⁵ He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

²⁶ Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

²⁷ And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

Amazing story 

Says the furnace was so hot it killed the men just standing near it to throw them in ?

I have a painting of Daniel in the lions den in my living room to remind me that even through the times of trouble god can bring us out unharmed

A great account of men who exhibited great faith, fearless conviction, and a steadfast resolve to reject compromise at all cost. It also shows what God is willing to do when people demonstrate these qualities in their daily lives. What a great and miraculous deliverance from a Great and Mighty God.

I recently read this account.  It shows God's miraculous power to protect His own during persecution.

I often wondered if Daniel ran Babylon while Nebuchadnezzar was insane , he would have been vulnerable to people that wanted to kill him for those 7 years of madness and I’m sure he made plenty of enemies

The book also shows us the process of God using the Israelites to point people toward him, we see several times in the Bible even under captivity Gods chosen converted their captors by miracles Even the pagans had a tough time refusing the power of God

Daniel 4:24

And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever

and after surviving the lions den king Darius of Assyria 

Daniel 6:28

I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.

The lord can use even bad situations to show his power and make believers out of people?
