its a tradition

Well, first... Here's a fun little read for you.

https://anneelliott.com/2011/12/the-day-we-took-the-christmas-tree-down/

And in the OP's own words...

"Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act." ~Deitrich BonHoeffer

It's a pagan tradition. It does not belong in the worship of Yeshua/YeHoVah. "Christ-Mass" is idolatry plain, pure and simple. It comes from the RCC. There are already "traditions" in the Bible that were ordained holy by YeHoVah. So why are they ignored and the ones that are man-made observed and celebrated?

Please refer to the term "syncretism": the combination of different forms of belief or practice. It’s one of HaSatan’s most deceptive and appealing techniques, devised to destroy true faith and undermine the Christian’s confidence in YeHoVah’s Word and dependence on Yeshua.

We have to be pure in our worship of YeHoVah! YeHoVah the Almighty does not tolerate idolatry. We have to fear and obey Him only!

When the Israelites made the golden calf, they called it their Elohim who brought them out of Egypt (Exo 32:4-5). They even declared a feast day in YeHoVah’s Name. They were in their hearts worshiping YeHoVah. However, in front of them was a golden calf. It was still idolatry!

You cannot take a pagan practice and make it “Christianize” pagan practices and make them holy by doing it in the name of YeHoVah. It was, is and always will be an abomination to YeHoVah.

Jeremiah 10:2 thru 4 - 1Hear the word that the LORD speaks to you, O house of Israel. 2This is what the LORD says: “Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by the signs in the heavens, though the nations themselves are terrified by them. 3For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they cut down a tree from the forest; it is shaped with a chisel by the hands of a craftsman. 4They adorn it with silver and gold and fasten it with hammer and nails, so that it will not totter.

Revelation 18:4 - Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Come out of her, My people, so that you will not share in her sins or contract any of her plagues.

Revelation 18:8 - Therefore her plagues will come in one day—death and grief and famine—and she will be consumed by fire, for mighty is YeHoVah who judges her.”

Jeremiah 51:45 - Come out of her, My people! Save your lives, each of you, from the fierce anger of the YeHoVah.

Seriously...we usually have a couple by now. Doesnt feel like the Christmas season without them.

So i guess ill start by saying its not evil with the following evidence. Checkmate. Merry christmas all!

Where is this Christmas you speak of mentioned in the Bible? Did any of the Apostles celebrate Yeshua's birthday? After all were they not His friends? I would have thought they would have also written about it in Acts? Yeshua railed against the pharisees about their man-made traditions, didn't he?

Do you nullify YeHoVah's 1st, 2nd and 3rd commands with man's traditions?

Deuteronomy 4:2 - You must not add to or subtract from what I command you, so that you may keep the commandments of YeHoVah your God that I am giving you.

What have Pagans brought into "Christmas"?

1. Things like kissing under a mistletoe, carolling, wreaths, and even gift-giving were all aspects of pagan holidays that were adapted into Christmas celebrations in the early years. Dating back centuries before Christ, cultures brought evergreen trees, plants, and leaves into their homes upon the arrival of the winter solstice, which occurs in the northern hemisphere between December 21st and 22nd. Although the specific practices were different in each country and culture, the symbolization was generally the same: to celebrate the return of life at the beginning of winter's decline.

Together, they represent the most common celebrations in Wiccan-influenced forms of Neopaganism, especially in contemporary Witchcraft groups.  The two most notable pagan winter holidays were Germanic Yule and Roman Saturnalia. Catholic missionaries gave these holidays a makeover and they are now known to us as Christmas.

In the 19th century, paganism was adopted as a self-descriptor by members of various artistic groups inspired by the ancient world. … Most modern pagan religions existing today (Modern or Neopaganism) express a world view that is pantheistic, panentheistic, polytheistic or animistic, but some are monotheistic.

Jeremiah 16:18 through 19 - 18 And I will first repay them double their iniquity and their sin, because they have defiled My land with the carcasses of their detestable idols, and they have filled My inheritance with their abominations. 19 Oh, YeHoVah, My strength and my stronghold and my refuge, in the day of distress the nations (gentiles) shall come to You from the ends of the earth and say, "Our fathers have inherited only falsehood, futility (lies) and there is no value in them.

I like to try to defuse the potentially division causing threads by focusing on the qualities that this season is meant to inspire: hope, giving, thanksgiving, kindness,  joy, etc. No can say these things are bad in any season and we may as well make use of the chance to think of these things in this one (Philippians 4:8)

My great aunt, who is 94 years young this year, has discovered cellphones and she sent us this on the family group this morning. Hope it blesses someone

Well, why don't we do this as a compromise to meet in the middle? I will observe and support with gladness in my heart any of the "traditions" of Christ-Mass you can find in the scriptures. But if you can't find a scripture that supports your "traditions" you will stop doing them with gladness in your heart. Deal?

Jeremiah 10:2 through 4 - 2This is what the LORD says: “Do not learn the ways of the heathens or be terrified by the signs in the heavens, though the pagan nations themselves are terrified by them. 3For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they cut down a tree from the forest; it is shaped with a chisel by the hands of a craftsman. 4They adorn it with silver and gold and fasten it with hammer and nails, so that it will not totter. 5Like scarecrows in a cucumber patch, their idols cannot speak. They must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them, for they can do no harm, and neither can they do any good.

2 Corinthians 6:17 - “Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”

I would rather follow YeHoVah's Word on the subject of practicing pagan traditions to worship him. It doesn't matter what man meant "this season" to inspire. It is very well documented what the pagans meant "this season" to inspire (it is all about "sun-god" worship). Do you honestly believe this is what YeHoVah instructed us to do? If so, where in the Bible is it written? I can quote you several scriptures where it was written NOT to do them.

Have you ever Googled the question "Is Christian Pagan"? So as "Christians" are we to celebrate false religions just because they include thanksgiving, kind acts and joy?

1 John 2:14 through 16 - I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one. 15Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but from the world.…

People from all around the world regardless of their "religion" celebrate Christ-Mass. The above-mentioned passage pretty much describes Christ-Mass. Most news stories are all about what you will not be able to buy this year and little or nothing about Yeshua. He was never meant to be in "this season" and should have never been put there in the first place!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
