Everyone seems to be giving Bush such a hard time. The one thing that the media doesn't consider is that New Orleans experience TWO natural disasters. First the Hurricane and then a day later, flooding compounded the first disaster. Let's all keep the people affected, relief workers, military and government in our prayers.

Always in our prayers. Last night I was watching the telethon and I just couldn't stop crying. It really is so sad to hear the people who went through it talk about what they saw and went through. I feel so helpless.

Ya know what I've been wondering?

Where is the governor of Louisianna? WHO is the governor of Louisianna? I just saw her today for the first time 7 days after this disaster. The Governor of Texas, Mississippi, and Alabama have all been seen actively working to help the residents of New Orleans...but where is the person they elected to handle these things?

If I understand the law correctly, The Feds have to wait for the State government to make a request before they can enter a state and take over unless the government of that state is gone. The capital of Louisianna is in Baton Rouge so the government was still in place. What happened? What was the governor doing for so long that we never even knew she existed?

Our governor (Texas) was all over the place making arrangements to help these people. Haley Barber in Mississippi was quick to show up on the scene and get the Feds there.

As far as I know, other cities in Louisianna are still not preparing to take refugees....like Shreveport or Alexandria or Monroe.

IF there is any political fallout over this it better start with the governor. She is responsible for the care of Louisianna. We can jump all over the Feds for waiting on such incompetent leadership...but it has to start there.

Louisianna has their own reserve troops stationed locally & regionally which could have, should have, been on the scene immediately to bring security while the Feds figured out evacuation routes and logistics.

I also find it hard to believe that Louisianna didn't have any contingency plans for this situation?

I definitely agree with that.

But I've been watching all the news channels non-stop (I have family close to there) and today was the first time I even heard the Governor of Louisianna's name.

That doesn't absolve the Feds but the blame has to start with the people who were closest to the scene and didn't lift a finger. Who is responsible for carrying out contingency plans in the event of this exact emergency?

That starts with local government (they were unable) so the next level is the State Government. They were (and still are) non-existant.

A lot of people have dropped the ball, from the president on down and from the Governor on up.  And because they dropped the ball more people have suffered than was necessary and more have died than was needed.

There is no excuse.

The ball may have been dropped many years ago.

I posted her name days ago, she gave a press conference and was clearly shaken and called for Tuesady ( the following day) as a day of prayer.

I heard the Texas Gov on tv last night when they were praising Texas for what they were doing and he said that they ( since 9/11) have been preparing, that they knew what to do, apparently NO and Louis. didn't.

I read somewhere too, that last year, Ivan the terrible was headed for NO and it swerved away.Instead of people getting down on their knees and thanking G-d then laughed and pridefully boasted how they were invincible and NO would always stand. The L-rD gave them one year to repent or get prepared, it seems they did neither.

I'm glad to hear that she knew where to start....but then what?

There is no excuse for that.

"If we can't respond faster than this to an event we saw coming across the Gulf for days, then why do we think we're prepared to respond to a nuclear or biological attack?" asked former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a Republican.

I think he's got a point here. Every state and every city should have been praparing for the worst of disasters since 9-11, since terrorists could go after any place at any time with any means of destruction.

And I think it unreasonable to blame Bush for the lack of law and order. Law enforcers can only do so much. I blame the lawless individuals. I blame a society that promotes immorality while claiming there is no such thing as "wrong." The looters and shooters and others are sinners who are justifying their sin - plain and simple. Police and military and national guards aren't the answer.

If the people refuse to repent, then their destruction is on their own head. (And I don't mean that in a condemning way - it is a Biblical concept.)

That's why we need to look to the Lord rather than the president to heal the land.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
