Hi all.

I was thinking......I do a lot of that lately.......and I thought of this verse......can't remember, but I think it is is Phillippians, and it says that we must think upon pure things...lovely things.....and things of virtue.....

Then I thought of the movies I'd seen....

I don't watch horrible movies...but thinking about it, is 007 blowing upbuildings really virtuous?

Or seeing Mission Impossible guys blasting enemies with shotguns, and blowing up cars, pure?

Hmmmmm

And what about Indiana Jones???

And if it comes to that, Snow White is bad, because the Evil Queen gets a hunter to take out her heart!!!!

But then I remembered the Verse that says "There is now no condemnation in Christ Jesus........" (or something like that)

What do you guys think? No, I'm not bound up in religeon...but I'm interested in your replies...

Thanks. :)

Philippians 4:8 Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.

Meditate only on good things.

Don't worry about 007 or MI, unless of course these movies draw you from the Light. If they're causing you to react in a bad way, then I would put them aside.

People make too much out of movies. They like to tell us what we can and can't watch. God searches the heart. He knows where you stand with him.

Greetings,

Just because we have the freedom in Christ, because we are not under law, does not mean that we should be involved with the world's version of entertainment or happiness. We are to be filled with the Holy Spirit. You may want to consider:

1 Corinthians 6:12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Yomo: PRay that G-d will grant you the wisdom and discernment to see these movies for what they are. Especially Mission Impossible. And that is ENTERTAINMENT. And pray that G-d will grant you the power to integrate those things in these movies you see that are of and for good.

So those types of movies are OK, so long as they do not have an effect on my life, or relationship with God?

Is that what you are saying?

That is what I am thinking. TO me, if a movie has you thinking bad thoughts of lust or of the sort, stay away from them. I can watch a horror movie and not be effected by it besides being scared lol. Your heart will let you know what to watch and what not to watch.

If something is effecting your walk with the Lord in a bad way, leave it alone.

If the movies you watch are causing you to sin, don't watch'em.

I believe things can be learned from these movies and TV programs. It gives us an idea of where the world sits with some issues.

James Bond, Mission Impossible, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Passions of Christ. They are just movies. A story inside someones head that is brought to the big screen. We don't meditate on them. Sure we talk about them but that's not the same as meditating on them.

If we're going to throw out movies, we had better be ready to throw out the TV's too. There is absolutly nothing that is good about television. We can keep the news but the rest has to go.

I'll get slammed for these comments but I'm getting used to that. You see I learn from those too. It tells me where the mind of the church is.

People are so flighty on issues of sin. They like to name names and point fingers. Appointing themselves as judges over others. And in their judgments they know not that they sin.

I don't know what to tell you kiddo. The walk you walk is between you and God. No one elses business but yours. I'm not going to tell you what to watch and what not to watch. That decision is yours.

One thing you should remember is, everybody falls. Nobody's perfect. The trick to defeating those stumbles is getting back up.

Christ told Peter he would deny Him. Do you know what else He said?

Luke 22:32 " But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail, and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren".

Learn by your mistakes and teach others. Teach them, not command them. There is a difference.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
