The Light

Matthew 5:14-16

¹⁴ “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Disciples should be like a light or a lamp. They were to let their light shine not to attract other to themselves, but to glorify their Father in heaven. The implication of this passage is that only those who have experienced conversion and transformation by the grace of God can be true citizens of the kingdom of heaven. The passage clearly states that the difference between the christian and the world must be preserved; therefore, any choice on our part that blurs the distinction between us and the rest of the world is a step in the wrong direction. This can happen either through a choice to accept the ways of the world for the sake of comfort or convenience or to contravene the law of obedience to Christ.

JOHN 8:12  then spake  JESUS  again unto them saying  I am the light of the world he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life

PSALM 119:130  the entrance of thy words giveth light it giveth understanding unto the simple 

1 JOHN 2:9  he that saith he is in the light and hateth his brother is in darkness even until now

--2:10--  he that loveth his brother abideth in the light and there is non ocassion of stumbling in him

 

JOHN 3:19  and this is the condemnation that light has come into the world and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil

--3:20--  for every one that doeth evil hateth the light neither cometh to the light lest his deeds should be reproved 

 

*******1 JOHN 3:10  in this the children of  GOD  are manifest ---and the chilren of the devil--- whosoever doeth not righteousness ---is not of GOD--- neither he that loveth not his brother*******

Great topic

Being a light to the world would be saying the world is darkness and we are the Light as the sinners love the dark we in turn should embrace the light 💡 

Things done in the dark will manifest themselves in the light
