I have heard before that we humans use a very small percentage of our brain/mind potential, which I have always had a tendency to confuse with FAITH? And sometimes am not sure if i should be striving to use that brain power or leaning more on God's help and the Holy Spirit alone...but it seems like Christ was saying it's ALL on you/us as to what will be done in our lives? And if what we long for doesn't come to pass then it is ALL our own fault, period...unless of course it just wasn't His will, but there will no doubt be those(word of Faith) people who ignore that possibility and still put the blame on YOU alone.

Either way i do realize HE paid the ultimate price on the Cross and so i sometimes feel like i am falling a bit short in doing my part by using my own mental capacity to actually BELIEVE...unless maybe i am just trying too hard...idk??

And without faith it is impossible to please him,
for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists
and that he rewards those who seek him.

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God"

My faith grew not by my intellect, for sure, but by my exercising my faith muscle..in the little things.

I'm old and I grew up driving cars with mechanical brakes. I had little to no 'faith' in them because they frequently failed.
With the modern truck I drive now I don't even think about my brakes as they work every time. Total faith in them!
Because I use them every day, and I totally trust them. My faith in them grew as I learned to trust them.
Had nothing to do with my intellect. But the faith-full-ness of my brakes, which my life depended on.

Trust and patience were added, stirred, and believing/thanking for my petitions, before I received them.
God's ways are not man's ways. How He answers my prayers, when He answers my prayers, ain't nothing like
I had anticipated. Sometimes it seems slow, and there were times He provided my need before I ask (and I didn't know).
God's best blessings (for me) are mostly not monetary, but more eternal.
I accept/trust/depend on that now as I grow. The little things.

I found so many verses of God's faithfulness and downloaded this light to my heart/brain/hard drive.
Scripture is full of what you are looking for Capt.

"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart"
"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you"

"And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"
"The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it"

"Let those who delight in my righteousness shout for joy and be glad and say evermore,
Great is the Lord, who delights in the welfare of his servant!”

The LORD is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works.
The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them

I believe close fellowship is key, not having an ongoing sin causing loss of fellowship.

"The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much"

God is Light. His promises are true. He is faithful.

Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage;
                      wait for the LORD!

I would agree with all that...and for me personally the "Seek first the kingdom..." has always been the hardest for me to do. And also having an "ongoing sin" hasn't helped much either, but am beginning think that this "sin" and the place i am at are one in the same, meaning i will not be able to completely overcome it until i have left where i'm at now...which i strongly feel is not in God's will. And sometimes no one else can tell you that except God/Holy Spirit, so it's probably better at times to not even ask and get some bad advice...but not referring to your comments, just saying.

Is it not using both simultaneously?

Romans 12:[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Another question i had along this line was about people who may not even be Christians who have somehow developed or been born with a certain "gift" where they are able to use their mind-power to do things that just can't be explained, such as through the psychic realm or maybe remote viewing, Google it if you are not familiar. But one show in particular called The Dead Files has this lady who goes in to these locations at the beginning of their "investigation" and starts picking up on all that is going on there as far as any ghost/spirit activity. And at the end the other guy starts disclosing what has in fact been happening there and it usually always turns out to be almost 100% correct. So does this lady and people like her really have that psychic ability to see such things or is there something else a bit shady going on here that is not completely on the up and up so to speak?

David tells us:: "Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4. We are to have a pure heart so we only desire what God wants for us. ghost/spirit activity.

Sounds demonic to me. There is energy left behind. A fresh coat of paint can usually resolve that. It is difficult to sell a house that someone has died in. There is the law of attraction and mind over matter. They use to say what the mind can conceive the body can achieve. I did construction, remodeling and renovation for years.  There is always a natural explanation. There are people with million dollar rewards if you can prove a paranormal event and it has never been done.

The One Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge was an offer by the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) to pay out one million U.S. dollars to anyone who could demonstrate a supernatural or paranormal ability under agreed-upon scientific testing criteria. A version of the challenge was first issued in 1964.

While i do agree it is most likely demonic in nature, and people who gain acess to "familiar spirits" as well, but i would think that the reason most of them have not accepted this challenge is probably because Mr.Randi is requiring documented proof, which many of these cases cannot provide since how can you prove something than cannot be seen and is usually only between the individual and these spirits. He would literally have to accompany some of these people on there investigations and see it for himself, and even then could say it wasn't good enough for him to believe, since after all a million dollars is not something anyone is going to give up that easily. But either way i do believe these are not ghosts but evil spirits that these psychics are getting in contact with.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
