I'm thinking that stealing classified documents and lying about it to the authorities will probably bring on a lot of attention from law enforcement.

The Presidential Records Act clearly spells out those powers and limitations.

The Presidential Records Act (PRA) of 1978, 44 U.S.C. ß2201-2209, governs the official records of Presidents and Vice Presidents that were created or received after January 20, 1981 (i.e., beginning with the Reagan Administration). The PRA changed the legal ownership of the official records of the President from private to public, and established a new statutory structure under which Presidents, and subsequently NARA, must manage the records of their Administrations.  The PRA was amended in 2014, which established several new provisions.

Specifically, the PRA:

  • Establishes public ownership of all Presidential records and defines the term Presidential records.

If he took any of the records from his presidency, he committed a felony.   If any of them were classified, he committed other felonies.

Shalom, The Barbarian.

Just be aware that these allegations are still under investigation, and until such rulings are passed, the man is innocent until proven guilty.

How so? His main thesis seems to be that they were not adequately prepared and that problem still exists today.

Always true.   But getting caught with the stolen documents in his possession is going to be very hard to deny.

It's going to take a huge fairy tale to cover up the evidence so far.   Sund doesn't seem to provide any exculpatory evidence that would help Trump escape indictment.

That's what Trump thought.   How did that work out?   Meantime, Biden got a lot of legislation passed and signed into law, restored U.S. leadership in the world, and had the best mid-term election results in nearly a hundred years.

Yeah, we know:

"But... but... but... LAPTOP!"

"So what's on it?"

"But LAPTOP!"
