Biblical Hebrew has a very small number of words, about 8,000, and around 1,700 of those words are hapax legomena (being said once) in the Hebrew Bible. Modern Hebrew has about 100,000 words. For comparison modern English has over 450,000 words, and Spanish has just over 175,000 words. This means words often have multiple meanings determined by context.

Although yom is commonly rendered as day in English translations, the word yom can be used in different ways to refer to different time spans:

The Greek language is ranked as the richest in the world with 5 million words and 70 million word types. According to Dr. MacDonald, only 600,000 Greek words are used today, making the Greek vocabulary the largest in the world and 3.5 times bigger than the English vocabulary.

Though there are 138,607 words in the Greek New Testament, only 5,394 are unique.

They used to act differently!"  So I assume that either you're thousands of years old or you're thinking in 2023 and writing in modern English.

We have excellent English translations available today, translating the thoughts and words of ancient people to be understandable to 21st Century readers.  Each translation has an introduction that expresses their goals and methodologies; it should be read by everyone who uses a particular translation.

In general, modern translations use the best source documents (and other documents that enhance the understanding of the ancient languages), the best methodology, including the art/science of text criticism to determine the most reliable wording, and are reviewed by pan-ecumenical committees to insure accuracy of understanding and (importantly), freedom from sectarian bias.  We are truly blessed to have such excellent translation available today!

By comparison, the "Authorized" Version, was ordered by a secular king to codify his personal view of Protestantism (which just so happens to justify and exalt his reign).  It was based on a limited number of English translations that preceded it, and he ordered the excellent foot-and-side notes removed because they questioned his secular authority.  The source documents used were of late medieval origin -- copies of copies of copies ... of copies -- and are far less reliable than the very early source documents available today.  There two major revisions within 27 years of the original publication and over 1000(!) minor changes to the (perfect!) original.  (SO, which one was/is the correct translation?)

I will not discuss this any further under this topic heading.

IT DOESN’T MATTER IF YOU MAKE MISTAKES!

YOU MUST DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN, THEN YOU WILL START TO LEARN ABOUT THE BIBLE!

In Luke 19, Jesus tells us an interesting illustration about God’s kingdom!

An important man must go to a distant land to secure kingly power!

To his ten slaves he gives money to do business with it till he comes back!

When he comes back, he wants to know what his slaves have done with their business activity!

According to what they have done he gives them authority over cities!

BUT ONE SLAVE HASN’T DONE ANYTHING!

And he takes what he gave to this slave and gives it to the one who did the best job!

SO THOSE WHO HAVE MORE WILL BE GIVEN!

BUT THOSE WHO DON’T HAVE IT WILL BE TAKEN AWAY WHAT THEY HAVE!

In Chapter 26, David has another opportunity to kill Saul who is chasing him!

But he doesn’t do it because he is Yah.weh’s anointed!

He is ready to wait for Yah.weh to strike him!

And Saul leaves and David can keep on his way!

What a difference when he becomes king of Israel!

Here we get another warning!

What is the interest of looking for Yah.weh if we stop doing it!

FAITHFULNESS IS A WAY OF LIFE!

God confused the language at Babylon. So we have to go back and learn the Hebrew that existed before He confused the languages. Genesis 11:7 "Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”niv

You think that Hebrew existed before He confused the languages at Babylon?  What is your basis for this?

Hebrew Language is a Semitic language originally adopted by the 'ibhri, or Israelites, when they took possession of the land of Canaan west of the Jordan River in Palestine.  Aramaic is quite ancient – the Aramaic alphabet was the precursor to both the Hebrew and Arabic alphabets.

Sumerian can be considered the first language in the world. The oldest proof of written Sumerian was found on the Kish tablet in today's Iraq, dating back to approximately 3500 BC.

We see "God Said" 10 times in Genesis chapter one. According to the Hasidic, Hebrew is the language God used to create the universe.  Within Kabbalah, the Hebrew letters are believed to be not merely linguistic symbols, but also divine building blocks with inherent spiritual significance.

- Well, think about the difference if you learn a European language or an Asian language or an African language!

- The mentalities are so different!

- But when you learn an ancient language, that's another story!

- Just think that Biblical Hebrew is very limited whereas Biblical Greek is richer than today's Greek!

- It is easy for a Greek person to misunderstand the Bible because Ancient Greek and modern Greek are so different!

- So think about someone who is not Greek!

- And I mean basic mistakes whereas they think they think right!
