John 17:1-3

He said: Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, so the Son may glorify You.

Even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, so may He give eternal life to all those

You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God,

and Yeshua the Messiah, the One You sent.

How do we come to know God and obtain this eternal life?

The ones we know; we recognize their voice.

John 10:4 The shepherd calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them;

and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.

Whether we are listening to the spoken Word or studying devotionals,

praising God or meditating in His presence, the one goal remains constant:

to know His voice.

One of the earliest ways that the priesthood referred to the Lord was “The Voice.”

Numbers 7:89, JPS Tanakh. And when Moses went into the tent of meeting that

He might speak with him, then he heard the Voice speaking unto him from above

the ark-cover that was upon the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim;

and He spoke unto him.

The point of this is that we can listen to the Word of God being read aloud or preached, and

hear the voice of the Spirit as a life giving word from what is being spoken if we abide in the Spirit.

Haven’t you had the Lord drop something into your spirit while listening to preaching?

Titus 1:3 He has made manifest His Word through preaching.

1 Corinthians 1:21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God,

it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

Romans 10:14&15 How then shall they call on the One in whom they have not trusted?

And how shall they trust in the One they have not heard of?

And how shall they hear without someone proclaiming?

And how shall they proclaim unless they are sent?

As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who proclaim good news of good things!”

This is why the message must not deviate from what was presented by the first apostles.

John 16:7&8 But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away. For if I do not go away,

the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. When He comes,

He will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment.

It is always the work of the Holy Spirit to convict someone to repentance.

This is why Paul said:

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 When I came to you, brothers and sisters, I did not come with excellence of speech

or wisdom, proclaiming to you the mystery of God. For I decided not to know about anything among you

except Yeshua the Messiah and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling.

My speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit

and of power, so that your faith would not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

The Message of the Messiah must register to the listener through the Voice of the Spirit,

not our own. In this knowledge of God is the continual blessing.

Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy,

and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

John 3:29 He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom,

who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice.

Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled.

Many thanks for sharing that, brother. It's exceedingly edifying as it reminds me of that time before I knew the Lord, when He would speak to me at certain times under specific circumstances. That's how I knew Him: He was the Voice I heard. I didn't know who He was, but He surely knew me.

That was one of the reasons why I was overwhelmed when the Spirit revealed Himself as God, calling me to Christ. I had always believed that God was beyond comprehension (this was true), and that it was impossible to know Him (that was not true). When the Lord revealed Himself, I was overwhelmed. He was the Voice!

"One benefit of waiting on the Lord is that you will begin to discern the voice of the Spirit. As you wait in God's presence praying in other tongues, He will speak to your spirit. The Holy Spirit is a guide, and He is in you. He will speak a sure word for you to follow"

" And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left."

"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." John 16:13

Psalm 127:1: “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it.” If its us building it then its in vain. See He promised that as many are led by the sweet sweet holy Spirit they are the sons of God. So seems we can be led. A truth I believe many do not receive revelation about Gods play for their life is because they do not spend time waiting on Him and praying in the spirit. They just don't get into the spirit to obtain their answers. So what happens is their reasonings and planning comes from the mental realm which equals its man made plans fail.

As one said there are simply no shortcuts to waiting before God in prayer. Sometimes an answer may require waiting all night or missing some meals or not watching youtube or tv and other distractions.

"Get alone with God, and pray in the Spirit for your personal edification. Get some things straightened out on the inside of you. Find out what your priorities are and what God wants you to do. You will receive the answers you need and enjoy times of refreshing in His presence!"

@TheBlade Pursuing prayer and reading the Scriptures contain much of the key to hearing the voice of the Spirit, right?

Sometimes it requires even to move on with your day and not try to squeeze for an answer. God and His timing, plus He owes us nothing.

In regards to the above, I found that oftentimes I have more like an inclination to do something or go somewhere, rather than an actual voice. That inclination (or voice of Spirit we should say) is clear and powerful. I understood that the more you abide, the more you are led by it. The more things you let go of BY CHOICE, the more Spirit will abide in you. Your mind (and your intentions) will not be overshadowed by fears or desires so there is more space for Him to dwell in you and lead you with ease. Also, you won't be able to be deceived by the enemy when you surrendered not only your life and situations into His hands, but also your loved ones'. It's hard, but God loves His committed children, the ones that understand His creation, who accept that after physical life there is an eternal one waiting on them. He is good. :) He rewards us abundantly for our obedience. What do you think was the secret of Paul and all the other apostles? They attached their hands to nothing, surrendered everything. The narrow path, right? :)

Hey.. I am not good with words "I have more like an inclination to do something or go somewhere, rather than an actual voice. "

YES amen what you said here 10% agree. This happens most of the time. That inner witness huh. I remember a pastor moved to LA asked before he left if I wanted to go with him. Had a dear friend named Sue.. MAN do I miss her. I had just moved back into the State WA and I had this not feeling but I knew I was going some where so I never unpacked. Sue one day comes  up says the lord told her something about me so I told her tell a friend and write it down and put it somewhere. See the collage was down the street and we all lived in this old Church, girls down stairs guys up stairs. So the pastor comes up to me one day asks if I wanted to go to LA with them. I said pray about make sure. I then went to Sue and asked for what she wrote down..we were at Church.

She said ints in my room under the mattress. So I was the 1st one there and it said "Danny will go with the Pastors family to LA". She didn't know, well no one knew the Pastor was leaving. Inner witness.  Oh I remember haha what I going to say was in LA I got a job and oh that place was so beautiful in side but every time I stepped in I felt so sick. Well my job was to take movie reels off and put them on something else. One day I found this movie clip on the ground. It was pron. Oh you never saw anything. I went home told him .. I can't work there any more.. the moment I walked in I always felt so sick until I left. HAHA well after that it was more clear why this other "guy" he really on he really wanted to be my friend. I didn't know he was gay.

This here I never heard His voice (that sweet sweet holy Spirit) just that inner witness which I should have said is what happens most of the time.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
