Jude 2 Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

He offers a three word blessing for us to receive,

but first let’s look at this Word ‘multiplied',

used by Peter in both his epistles.

[G4129] plethyno=increased at an abounding rate. From:

G4128] plethos=multitude.

Luke 2:13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude

of the heavenly host praising God and saying:

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!

A few verses I would like to now list using our Word for this study.

Acts 6:7 Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples

multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests

were obedient to the faith.

Acts 9:31 Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria

had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the

comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.

As I consider the rate of growth being described in Acts, and that the Holy Spirit

was working, multiplying seems insufficient. What we know of God’s creation is

throughout, many natural forces move at what is called “an exponential rate”.

What this means is that the process starts upward at a sustainable rate, but then

quickly accelerates toward a derivative rate that approaches infinity limit. Therefore,

if the remarkable work that the apostles accomplished in the first century had been

sustained by those who came after, the Gospel would have spread like a tidal wave

that traversed the globe. Therefore, to satisfy the logical outcome of this thought

experiment that I have shared with the Holy Spirit, and now you,

I offer this verse in translation.

Acts 12:24 But the word of God grew at an exponential rate.

OMG! Thanks for catching that! I meant only to type Jude 2.

I have often seen Jude listed verse by verse, there is no need for a chapter designation. For example, you may have seen this before, at least I have, among the brethren on an outreach: Contenders For The Faith Jude 3. I will fix it right away. Thanks again, and thanks for reading, this was a good study.

Now when you consider the reality of ministry and church activities, they tend to have their ups and downs. This seems like a natural biorhythm, and may also seem somewhat carnal. What informs us as to how the Lord handles this “to everything there is a season” rhythm is revealed to us in the ordering of the temple by King David. The Priests of Aaron who served in the sanctuary were placed on a 24 family rotation of one week each. Thus, every family served only twice in a 48 week period. Clearly then, each following round is offset by four weeks, thus every family at some point would serve in every season, and for every feast day. That is what is being described here:

Luke 1:5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. 6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. 7 But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years. 8 So it was, that while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his division, 9 according to the custom of the priesthood, his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.

The obvious question becomes, what might a priest be doing the rest of the year?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
