And how about this prophecy from Abraham telling us that God Himself will be the sacrifice for our sins. The KJV says:

Ge 22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide Himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

NIV

Abraham answered, "God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." And the two of them went on together.

ESV

Abraham said, "God will provide for himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son." So they went both of them together.

The Message

Abraham said, "Son, God will see to it that there's a sheep for the burnt offering." And they kept on walking together.

Holman Bible

Abraham answered, "God Himself will provide (G) the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." Then the two of them walked on together.

All these newer versions take the emphasis off God being the offering Himself and emphasis God providing the offering just in replacement of Isaac. The Jewish translation of the OT into english have it just like the KJV and is an excellent point to bring up to your Jewish friends about their sacrifice.

Yes. Most modern translations do a rather poor job; especially in the Old Testament.

yep, that's why a literal interpretation is important. Not necessarily our literal int., but the translators. Dynamic equivalency is fine if put into proper perspective with a knowledge of the scriptures. My son can read the KJV easy enough, but there are times when he (he's 10) needs a simpler and more recent version due to language.

Hi Larry, excellent example!!! Not only does the King James Holy Bible bring out this precious truth (while the NKJV, NIV, NASB, ESV hide it), but as you pointed out, even the Jewish translations of 1917 and 1936 say the same thing as the King James Bible. Also agreeing with "God will provide Himself a Lamb for a burnt offering" are the Revised Version of 1881, the ASV of 1901, Darby, Douay, the Spanish Reina Valera and even the RSV had it right. The bibles are getting worse, not better.

Thanks for bringing this one up.

Hi Ronald, we all know that you personally do not believe any Bible is the inerrant words of God and that you really don't care. So while you may be tired of seeing concrete examples of where the modern versions are poor substitutes for the true Holy Bible, others perhaps are not as hardened or indifferent as you are. Just ignore them if you are not interested.

It is still a free country. You can read anything you want, but for those who may still be wondering about where the apostasy is headed (No inspired and inerrant Bible) and want to have the real thing, I and a few others are letting other Christians know that God has not lied to us, and He has kept His pure words here on this earth in a book we can hold in our hands and believe every word. It is called the King James Holy Bible.

especially since the hebrew does NOT---have himself inserted after provide...

not, that thats not whats being said or understood.

its just more evidence of the DARK AGES mindset of anti-semiticism the translators had.

they did anything to shove in the jews faces Jesus was God and the Messiah.

Himself, didnt need, to be inserted, because the ORIGINAL HEBREW had different words for RAM---AND LAMB.

the Holy Spirit would have shown true believers the truth without the KJV translators help.

Ge 22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

SEH for Lamb

Ge 22:13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

'AYIL for Ram

no need for grammatics.

God will provide a Lamb---obviously he didnt here.

Mark, I find your comments to be quite revealing. Through your spiritual blindness you actually reveal truth.

You are correct in that Abraham did not offer up a Lamb on this occassion, but a ram instead. However you miss the whole point. The very fact that Abraham offered up a ram instead of a lamb proves that this hidden prophesy about the future Lamb of God who would be God Himself did not occur at this time, but was still future!!!

The whole scene is prophetic in nature. The Father offering up His Son who shares the same nature as the Father. Another confirmation of this prophetic truth, which also has been perverted in most modern bible versions, is found in verse 14. "And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD IT SHALL BE SEEN."

The real sacrifice, of which this was only a type, was still future when Genesis was penned, and was later fulfilled when God provided HIMSELF a lamb for a burnt offering.

It is all right there in the true Holy Bible - the King James Bible.

Hi Prodigalson123,

I also use other versions to help with the understanding of some verses. I am glad your son can read the KJV which is really easier to read because of the smaller words. I praise God even more that your son is even reading the scriptures at 10 yrs. Our arch enemy hates the fact that there are still people who hold to the Word of God and tries every way he can to keep the finer points of the Word from us. I know that God has preserved His Word down through the ages and that He will continue to preserve it.

I would think even you would know better than to say things that a person HAS NOT said! I went the route of KJV only for a while and wound up going back to the NIV-a much more readable translation btw. As for being hardened, you ARE NOT in a position to judge my walk with God. I would also submit that maybe you should heed the advice of the Lord-remove the plank from your own eye before trying to get a splinter from mine!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
