PS: In verse 8 of Luke 22, the Lord Jesus speaks of the passover. But in verses 19 and 20 there is clearly a new order of things in view.

Guess science is easier to point the finger at than discussing the real atrocities in the world.

Science has extended lives in the here and now. Though it is a two edged sword which is happening now also but taking lives.

The science mentioned in the OP can't be about replacing hearts and lungs medical science or instruments of war.

I'd like to know which science the thread refers to because there's quite a few.

Hi @Anne2 I am reminded also of Jude 24-25:

"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, [25] To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen."

Faith without works is dead. What we are doing in our heart.

@Anne2 Reminds me of James 2.17-18: "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works."

Do you suppose the same was true of sacrifices for sin brought to the temple?

Paul asked a similar question here….

Galatians 3:1-6

King James Version

O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.

He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

And this Wisdom is not achieved by going to schools and Universities, or Bible college, or church services, or watching videos. This Wisdom cannot be taught by carnally minded men, neither can it be learned by carnally minded men.

This Wisdom is a gift from God given to His elect saints who believe in His Word Jesus Christ and are born again of His Spirit. It is only by the Spirit of God that a man can receive understanding into the deep spiritual things of God.

If any man lacks Wisdom let him ask of God in faith. Peace and God bless

Agreed. Most of the ones I know that really convey the Lord's speaking and His life to me are not those who have been college or seminary trained!  Not saying that people who are learned in this way cannot speak the Lord's words of Spirit and life, but it seems that's been my experience 80-90% of the time.

It is the Lord who gives real wisdom and life, not man's institutions.

Good question OP. Which is greater, man's flesh and blood, or the Spirit of Father and Son?

Something about the cross. Father God told us plainly that He would crucify the Son of Man by nailing him to the cross. This is the flesh and blood body of Jesus. That day was the death of flesh and blood lawless behavior according to Father God and Jesus Christ God. Jesus put lawless behavior to death. Mankind keeps the lawless behavior alive because we are slaves to the flesh without the fear of God and Jesus. Now, servants of Christ must nail their flesh and blood bodies, figuratively speaking yet mentally applicable, to the cross daily. By doing this, they will live by God's teaching from Holy Scripture and the help of the Holy Spirit who lives within the man.

What is also revealed by the cross is that man cannot kill nor harm the Spirit of the living God. When Christ's flesh was rendered useless by death, His Spirit never faltered. He never lost faith in His Father whether it was on the cross or in death.

Christ also never told us to abolish the Law of God. Learning Father's Law teaches us to Fear Him. Secondly, studying the Laws of God teaches His and Christ's servants discipline, restraint, control. All these are good for restraining the nature of the flesh. Let us give Father God the credit, fame, and glory for His mercy; and Jesus gets the Praise forever and ever. Amen.

Amen! The cross is foolishness to the natural man for the reasons you point out. And also because the cross eliminates what we naturally hold most dear - the physical body! So the cross takes care totally of that which is seen, to bring in that which is unseen - resurrection life.  And since we are baptized into Christ, we share in this death and His resurrection life, since the Last Adam became a life-giving Spirit to live in us!

So that which is most real and eternal is unseen . . .

(regarding your comment: "studying the Laws of God teaches His and Christ's servants discipline, restraint, control. All these are good for restraining the nature of the flesh" why don't you start a thread around this, as I don't want my response to it to hijack this thread? And please let me know if/when you start that thread, as I'd like to participate.)

What many new converts do not understand is that we are supposed to be taught by God through His Spirit and through Christ, not by men.

It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ

If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

And one of my "pet peeves" is when I hear Christian preachers take scriptures and teach something as an outward rule for believers to follow, which is not the new covenant way of His anointing. This kind of outward thing is of "no value against the indulgences of the flesh." (Col 2:23)

@Vine Abider Excellent post. This is sadly typical of a Fundamentalist mindset among those who may agree that they are not under the OT law but who have promptly created their own list of rigid rules which they then proceed to try to impose on everyone else.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
