@Vine Abider Excellent post. This is sadly typical of a Fundamentalist mindset among those who may agree that they are not under the OT law but who have promptly created their own list of rigid rules which they then proceed to try to impose on everyone else.

There is really no value to this outward way of preaching scripture, at least in my opinion. You can get a form of godliness though doing the outward, but it has no power to transform a person - that has to come from the indwelling Spirit.  Period.

At best, maybe a few principles to help one turn to the Lord to let His life live in and through us . . .

Something one might want to consider. How do we teach children? Father's words and Christ's words must be taught to every generation of believers. Upon hearing the words of God, the Spirit of Father God and Jesus Christ can reveal Himself to the inner man.

Life on earth does not exist without rules. It is the Way we use the rules and the Law that makes the difference. The Law is good if used properly. This is stated plainly in the New Testament.

God taught Abraham faith without the law. God gave Jacob's descendants the Laws of God and not the laws of men. God expected faith and obedience. He got neither one from most of Jacob's descendants.

Christians are meant to reveal their faith to the Jewish people outside of and not under the Law. Jewish people give us Father's Way of Life, which includes laws, temple worship, etc. Christians are supposed to accept Faith leading to Obedience. Obedience is learned in the Law.

Teach the Law to every generation. That generation will decide to obey or disobey God. However, Faith and Obedience to Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is what please God.

While I basically agree with you, you are wrong about the Jewish people.

Jewish people gave us a lot more than the Father's Way of Life, which includes laws, temple worship, etc.   Jesus was a Jew, as were all the apostles (including Paul), all the members of the first churches, and all the authors of the Bible (with one exception: Luke).  Without the Jews there would be no Christianity!

Now if you are referring to Judaism, that is an entirely different matter.  One is a person, the other is a religion.

Thought provoking, but....there is the conscience of others we should not defile. A valid point. I am just not sure this point is so much an issue anymore. Certainly I believe more leeway for discussion concerning that in this case should be a given, as opposed to a command/demand. While this issue may not have reached the point where it has with our clothing. JKeeping in mind, pants were at one time considered strictly a mans clothing, and dresses, strictly womens clothing. Who would think to uphold scriptural edicts against those things to day? Islam?

If you knew the Old Testament, then you would know the answer to your own question.

Why is it lawless behavior, sin, for women to look and dress like a man and men to dress and look like a woman? They are deceiving others with their behavior.

Why did Timothy tell women to dress modestly in church? So that they would be acting in love to their fathers and brothers and husbands. Clothe yourself with noble character. When you cover your flesh, you are acting in love because, hopefully, men will not then lust only after your flesh. Covering your flesh reduces man's temptation regarding the female body, form, and lust of the flesh.

This same doctrine applies to men also.

Perhaps, but I suspect it was more than that. Expressing their attitude of the sense of what their role was. Woman being subject to her own self, instead of her husband and vice versa.

Outward way of preaching scripture? If I read aloud from the Holy Bible, whose words do I use? When you speak from Holy Scripture, whose words do you rely upon to lead you in the Spirit? The voice of God can be heard in voice inflection, tone, and intent and in Truth.

Do not believe me. That is totally up to you. The LORD will be your judge; I am no one's judge. I am only a slave to Father God and a servant of His Son, Jesus. You have abolished the Ten Commandments and are now sitting in judgment upon Father God's Laws.

Remember, you are not under the law. However, where is your physical and mental location in regard to the Law. Do you sit on it? Or are you above the Law? Or are you smack dab in the middle with others who stand up for the innocent and the widow and the orphan?

Christ taught me to uphold the Law. This is plainly seen in Scripture.

The word of God is the sword of God. One can use it just like Jesus taught us to obey His Father and speak truth to power, which requires a baseline set of rules and good behavior and strength and courage.

Thankfully, however, since the law is no more, sin no longer exists. Enjoy.

Okay.  I responded in more detail on the other thread you started. So to sum up, here's a question that may clarify things: Is it accurate to say that following the law aids Christ in His transforming work in us?

Anyhow, do not act like them. Let your righteousness be greater than the Pharisees.

Amen - and the only way to do that is through the only One who fully lived the 10 commandments, and also surpassed them because He lived in the full reality of them in His heart (not just outwardly).

The Christian life is impossible to live without this same One living through us.  Agreed?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
