Just read an article saying the fires in Canada have so far burned an area the size of Virginia. When you add in the fires in Europe and Siberia, who knows what size area they have burned so far, and how much will be burned by the end of this fire season. Closing in on the first angels sounding/warning in Revelation 8:7, this year or next maybe.

Looking to the positive, that's that much less to burn next year.

Everything works for good for God's people.

Could be, seems like the time of the signs. Or it perhaps could be  some 1500 years from now. Doesn't much matter, as one's soul may be required of them even this very day. That is where the rubber meets the road for me.

Well said. Could be tomorrow or in a millennia.

We have been going through a stretch of cool weather and some rain which is greatly appreciated.

For much of the northern forests here, they do need to burn. Lodgepole pine requires fire to open it's cones to spread seeds. Also, because of the extensive logging industry in BC, there has been long term fire suppression to preserve the trees. Eventually that leads to worse conditions for fires with increased dry litter on the forest floor.

JULY 17, 2023

Another day  of heavy smoke is in the air at the smokey Mountains of North Carolina. It looks and feels like Los Angeles 1968. Can't see "views" in the mountains, it is all just haze, not the fog that looks like smoke in these mountains. There is a smell too, unlike smog of the old Los Angeles  days, there is that slight  wood burning smell plus it is a bit difficult to breath deeply.

Some 880 fires are evidently burning Canada  up at this time. What must it be like at Canada?

Well we have the Justin Trudeau guy that is horrible.he is buddies with Joe Biden and them. They talk about how they support him..

Before the fire started breaking out I noticed in their Congress or whatever it's called they were all laughing at Trudeau and getting on him..

Then all of a sudden Canada has massive fires all over the place?

Coincidence?

You are doing it again.

Out here in BC, I looked out my window and literally saw a fire start from a lightning strike.

Also, Canada's legislative body is called Parliament.

I wonder if Canada burning has anything to do with passing the C-4 law? (https://www.christianpost.com/voices/canadas-crackdown-on-religious-freedom-is-a-wake-up-call.html

I mean it is one thing to disagree, but to ban people from teaching Biblical marriage and sexuality (C-4) is absurd. Do they hold the same strictures on Muslims and their views on marriage and sexuality?

Man's way's vs God's ways/design.

Quote;

How did wildfires get put out before there were people?

Either they burn until they run out of fuel, or winter rain/snow puts them out. Sometimes they come back next spring it was a particularly dry fall. This still happens for many fires, especially farther north where there are less conflicts with human interests, or in parks.

Used to look like this; with natures pruning.

If you suppress the fires, as we do, all the juvenile pine that would have burnt survive. Then you have a thick, congested stand that you can't even walk through. When you finally get a fire, it doesn't just burn a couple hectares of grass and stop. No, it gets up in the canopy and burns thousands of hectares, and maybe some homes.

Now it looks like this, ready to torch and really burn.

Unfortunately, we can't stop fighting forest fires to fix the problem. We are too far gone. We have to do lots of planning. Most communities where I live are very invested in this and have been doing fuel modification projects to return forests to their natural state. This can be done by chainsaw work, prescribed controlled burns, or a combination of both.

No. We had terrible fire seasons in 2017 and 2018, then more normal ones in 2019-2022.
