Yes, we should do that as lead of Him! What are the first two referring to? And take a good look at all four verses - see any other connection? Col 1:27 Everyone should be aware that metaphors compare material physical properties with abstract spiritual ones to establish meaning by association. Eph 5:8-9 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light, (9) for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth. The Bible mentions “the inheritance of the saints in light” in Colossians 1:12 1. This phrase refers to those who have been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of Jesus Christ 2. [Bing]

This phrase refers to those who have been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of Jesus Christ And those that have been born again and turned away from the Lord back in living in sin are no longer counted among those in the Body of Christ because they are no longer delivered from the power of darkness. They will need to forsake their sin and confess their sin to the Lord to be in right standing once again. Most churches don't teach this so many who think they are right with the Lord sadly are not.

Yet he was declaring the people before him to be the lights of the world. Must have been a real attention getter!
