If they would only stop and think, if God rested on "Day 7" and he's still in His Rest, then a Day (YOWM) can not be an earth day calculated  as we know it, in other words God's rest has been around since He created Adam & Eve.

Where is day 8? Are you only 7 days old? Did all of history occur in 7 days? I don't think creation was last Thursday was it? Day 8 was many thousands of years ago. 

 

What makes you think God is still resting? Jesus specifically said he's not, unless you think Jesus lied. JOHN 5:17

God rested 1 day and then continued working on day 8 and is still working now. He's definitely not sitting on his hands.

It's poetry. It's like trying to find out what kind of fruit the tree of the knowledge of good and evil produced. I think it's quite possible that it was a perfectly normal fruit tree, but God made eating of it the "line" they could not cross. And when they knowingly defied God, it changed everything in their minds. i.e. the change was purely psychological - their perception of their relationship with their Creator completely changed.

i.e. the number of days is an irrelevance. And we are God's imagers insomuch as we are the managers of this particular planet. He put us in charge, and as far as the planet and all non-human life on it is concerned, we ARE God.

With great power comes great responsibility. Don't squander it.

8 is New Beginning, that will start with the New Heavens and New Earth, its called Eternity with God.

God is at REST in His Creation, Jesus is our REST, that is why we need no Sabbath day, we are separated unto the Lord 24/7/365. 

The universe is not 6000 years old. Its unreal people still buy into this. But alas, it is what it is. Don't you want to understand the true facts? I do not get it tbh.

Is there a verse that says 8 is new beginnings? Or is that your opinion? People seem to like assigning numbers in the bible to things even when the bible doesn't say that number has any significance. Is there a verse that says God is at rest? Jesus said he's not.

Jesus rested from creation when he saw it was good on the sixth day. He is now preparing a place for us. The seventh day is when Jesus comes for the second time as the conquering hero. You have to agree that our sixth day is an extremely long twenty-four hours. Day in the Hebrew simply means a period of time as defined by the context and here we are long after Adam and Eve still in the sixth day. Heavenly time is different from the time it takes for the earth to make one rotation of our sun.

Read the bible and you will figure it out, just like you will figure out the number  7 means Divine Completion, 10 means Completion, 6 means Mankind, 12 means fulness etc. I have been called unto Prophetic Understanding nigh 40 years. Put in some effort.

Day in the Hebrew can refer to a period of time, you're correct. However when the word day is used with a number attached to it it always refers to a literal 24-hour day. If you know a situation and scripture where this is not the case outside of Genesis chapter 1, please show me. Otherwise there is no reason whatsoever other than a strong belief in man's theory of evolution to suppose that the days of Genesis do not mean literal 24 hours. There's nothing in the text that says that they are longer than 24 hours so an argument from either side could be used based on silence. I think it's funny however that people don't believe in the literal six days, especially when if God had meant longer than six literal days he certainly could have said so. Plus if God really did mean 6 days what language could he possibly have used that would make it more clear than saying six days. He gave us the simplest language possible for our fallible brains to comprehend, and yet many people actually say that he's wrong and that he didn't mean exactly what he said in clear black and white. Just my two cents.
