Ephesians 2:

11 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision

by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands—

12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel

and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation

15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances,

so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,

16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross,

thereby putting to death the enmity.

17 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near.

18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners,

but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,

20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets,

Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone,

21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,

22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Acts 13:

32 And we declare to you glad tidings—

that promise which was made to the fathers.

33 God has fulfilled this for us their children,

in that He has raised up Jesus.

As it is also written in the second Psalm:

‘You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.’

34 And that He raised Him from the dead,

no more to return to corruption,

He has spoken thus:

I will give you the sure mercies of David.

Isaiah 55:

1 Ho, every one that thirsts, come ye to the waters,

and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat;

yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread?

and your labor for that which satisfies not?

hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good,

and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear,

and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant

with you, even the sure mercies of David.

John 7:

37 On the last day, that great day of the feast,

Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone thirsts,

let him come to Me and drink.

38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said,

out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.

39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit,

whom those believing in Him would receive;

for the Holy Spirit was not yet given,

because Jesus was not yet glorified.

40 Therefore many from the crowd, when they heard

this saying, said, “Truly this is the Prophet.”

41 Others said, “This is the Christ.”

Romans 11:

13 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as

I am an apostle to the Gentiles,

I magnify my ministry,

14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy

those who are my flesh and save some of them.

15 For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world,

what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

16 For if the first fruit is holy, the lump is also holy;

and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you,

being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them,

and with them became a partaker of the root

and fatness of the olive tree,

18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast,

remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.”

20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith.

Do not be haughty, but fear.

21 For if God did not spare the natural branches,

He may not spare you either

22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God:

on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness,

if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.

23 And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief,

will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.

24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature,

and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree,

how much more will these, who are natural branches,

be grafted into their own olive tree.

Who is Israel?

Who is a jew?

Through out the bible God decries those who merely go through the motions, who have no belief.

Romans 2:28 A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. 29 No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God.

Israel is those who believe in Jesus.

Not sure where you are going with this, but, yes . . . I agree with the scriptures you posted (like I would disagree with them LOL)

From those verses we see that we are grafted in to Israel and the promises given to Israel, and essentially the family of God.

Yes, I realize that not all Jews are part of that household too . . .

In this you properly identify a Jew,

But by this a Gentile does not become a Jew.

Every Christian on the face of the earth claims to believe in Jesus.

So how is it you can separate them from your own scriptural assessment?

Is is not having a belief?, or not having a demonstrated faith,

and a commitment to trust, that results in faithfulness

and a good report: "well done, good and faithful servant".

Not sure where you are going with this,

Where we must go, is to find a better answer to the question:

Who is Israel?

Psalm 148:14 And He has exalted the horn of His people,
The praise of all His saints
Of the children of Israel,

A people near to Him.

Praise the Lord!

Isaiah 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, For as much as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men.

Hebrews 10:19-23 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

For this is the Word of Truth:

John 5:37 And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me.

You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator

between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.

John 16:13-15 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

It is by this the instructions from the epistle to the Hebrews apply to us all.

Hebrews 3:

14 For we are made partakers of Christ,

if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end;

15 While it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice,

harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

This pertains to the election of grace in Christ at this present time.

Let's not delve into 'replacement theology'.

Romans 11:

1 I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles.

12 Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!

13 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,

14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them.

15 For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in

26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:

The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
27 For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.

28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.

21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,

22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

A "Household" is what the "House" "holds". It usually means the kin who dwell together but can include the servants (Act.10:7). It was a servant in Matthew 24 who was to serve food to the Household in verse 45. Israel, before its division into two after Solomon, is called "the House of Israel". So also when the New Covenant is given to Israel in Jeremiah 31:33 the TWO HOUSES become united and are called the House of Israel.

In your text above the subject is NOT the Household of Israel. It is the "New Man" which God has made "OUT OF TWO". And in this New Man there is no ETHNICITY (Gal.3:28, Col.3:11). It is a fully New Creature and the past does not exist (2nd Cor.5:17). Added to this, it is NOT the household of Israel, but the Household OF GOD. If it had any connection to Israel then God is caught in illegality. he has a Covenant with Israel and He cannot just abolish it. But if the creature is new and the past dos not exist, God can apply or remove the Contract how He likes.

The argument that Gentiles must become Israel would necessitate them coming under Law. Nowhere is this thought written. In verse 12 we join NOT ISRAEL; but its COMMONWEALTH. A "Commonwealth" is when various nations enjoy the trading privileges of the mother nation BUT DO NOT GIVE UP THEIR CITIZENSHIP, AND REMAIN SUBJECT TO THEIR OWN LAWS. A New Zealander is in the Commonwealth of Great Britain, but he does not take British citizenship of change the Laws of New Zealand.

God's sublime move is to create a New People for the Kingdom of Heaven (Matt.21:43) but who do NOT belong to Israel. This He dos so beautifully by;
1. A commonwealth in which other men may enjoy the Promises to Abraham without joining Israel
2. Adoption. An adopted man is included in the Testament without being blood kin
3. Sonship to the Spirit. An Israelite is eligible for the Promises to Abraham by being seed of Abraham. That is, according to the FLESH. But the Gentiles are born by the Spirit and become sons of Abraham via Jesus (Gal.3:29)

God has devised a plan to make men heirs to the Promises WITHOUT them being Israelites.

Verse 19 introduces the household of God. Verse 20 shows its foundations. The prophets (who came from Israel) and the Apostles who came OUT of Israel. The House of Israel would, and does, reject the Apostles AND Jesus. The building that has the prophets AND the Apostles with the cornerstone Jesus is THE KINGDOM. In the Millennial Kingdom the Church (from the Apostles) reigns over the Nations, Israel serves Emmanuel (because He lives in Jerusalem) and Christ is King of the Jews and King of kings. This constellation does not change after the Millennium for in New Jerusalem Church is the City and Israel are the Gates. The Church, in contrast, is built on the foundation of Jesus ALONE (1st Cor.3:10-12). The prophets were not informed about the Church.

The last argument in this matter that is worth answering is the Olive Tree of Romans 11. A Tree in parable is a king and his kingdom (if we interpret scripture with scripture (Judg.9, Ezek.31, Dan.4). Israel is NOT the root or stem. they are specifically the natural branches. But because they rejected Jesus they are presently (in the grace of grace) CUT OUT. When Jesus returns He will graft them in again as Israel have a role in the kingdom. they SERVE Emmanuel who lives in Jerusalem. Jesus, the only "holy" One (Lk.1.35) is the Root and Stem of the Olive Tree. It is HIS KINGDOM. Israel as a Kingdom is a VINE. The Church as a KINGDOM belongs to the TRUE VINE. Judah is a FIG Tree. The Gentiles are a "GREAT TREE" and "The Vine of the earth" (Rev.14:18-19).

The Household of God is His children (born by the Spirit - John 20:17), and His servants - Israel (Lk.1:74).

A shame we don't have a Rabbi onboard to give the Jewish view of this.
