It is evil spirits that come up out of the bottomless pit, not men.

In the book of Revelation we read Revelation 11:7 “And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.”

 

Revelation 17:8

“The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition:”

Here is something I think a lot of people miss, because the natural man only knows what he knows naturally.  When reading these verses you must first consider, what is the bottomless pit?  The second question you must ask yourself is, what is coming up out of the bottomless pit?

The first answer is simple, the bottomless pit represents hell, as it is written in Proverbs 27:20 “Hell and destruction are never full;”

So the second question is what is coming up out of the bottomless pit?  Many believe the beast that comes up out of the bottomless pit is a flesh and blood man, but I do not.

The reason being, there is no mention of a physical resurrection of the dead until “the last day” per the words of Jesus.  Also, that first resurrection at the last day is only for the saints in Christ who shall not taste of the second death.  The rest of the dead shall not be raised until the great white throne judgment.

So what is coming up out of the bottomless pit?  It is not flesh and blood men, but it is evil spirits that are coming up out of hell.

These evil spirits are shown here in Revelation 9 …9 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.”

So these evil spirits will only hurt those men who are not sealed by God’s Holy Spirit.

But here is something else we also need to understand, is that an evil spirit, or spirits can enter into a man, or men.   Just as the spirit of the Devil works in the children of disobedience, as is written in Ephesians 2:2 “Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”

Also keep in mind, we are told our battle is not against flesh and blood, but rather spiritual wickedness…Ephesians 6:12

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

When you come to understand that the opening of the bottomless pit is connected to “the opening of the mouth”of Leviathan/Old Serpent/the Devil.  Then you can see it is “evil spirits” that are “coming out”and entering into “the mouth” of men, who are of the same “spirit” as their father the Devil.

Revelation 16:13

And I saw three “unclean spirits”like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

Who is able to make war with him?

Who is able to make war with him?

Job 41 “Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?2 Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?3 Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee?4 Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever?” (Whosoever sins is the servant of sin.)

A covenant with death….Isaiah 28:15, Isaiah 28:18 Wages of sin is death…worshipping the red Dragon is serving his desire= sin.

“And it was given unto him “to make war”with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.” ( the sea of iniquity= the red sea)

Who is able to make war with him?

Romans 7:23 “But I see another law in my members, “warring against” the law of my mind, and bringing me into “captivity”to the law of sin which is in my members.”

And all that dwell upon the earth shall “worship him,”whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
10 He that leadeth into “captivity”shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.” (in your patience you possess your soul)

Who is able to make war with him?

Our battle is not against flesh and blood.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not “war”after the flesh:4 (For the weapons of our “warfare”are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds, 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against “the knowledge of God,” and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

Who can make war with him?

“The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon.27 He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood.28 The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble.29 Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear.” …33 Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.34 He beholdeth all high things: he is a “king over all the children of pride.” (Revelation 9:11)

Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against “spiritual wickedness”in high places.

Revelation 9:11 “And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. =Destroyer=Destruction

Ecclesiastes 9:18 “Wisdom is better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroyeth much good.

He makes war with the saints....

James 4:1 “From whence come “wars and fightings”among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts “that war”in your members?”

1 Peter 2:11 “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which “war against” the soul;

Who will make war with him?

Revelation 17:14 “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall “overcome them”: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Isaiah 27:1 “In that day the Lord with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish “leviathan the piercing serpent,” even “leviathan that crooked serpent;”and he shall slay “the dragon that is in the sea.”

Revelation 20:2 “And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

Be not overcome by the evil one, nor be brought into “the captivity”and into the bondage of sin.

Who is able to make war with him?

The reason they will be saying that in Revelation 13 is because the beast-king will have just killed the two witnesses (but haven't yet come back alive).   The world will be relieved because the two witnesses who will have been issuing the plagues will have been killed.

The two witnesses will be killed on day 1260 (the length of their prophesying time, Revelation 11:3)

3 1/2 days later, they come back to life and ascend up to heaven.

Let's delve further....

So with a little math.... 1260 + 3 1/2 = 1263 1/2, leaving 1256 1/2 days left in the 2520 day 7years.

That 1256 1/2 days is the 42 months in Revelation 13:5 that the beast king will rule - in the absence of the two witnesses.

The 42 months is also the time that the nations will "tread under foot" Jerusalem as stated in Revelation 11:2, under the reign of the beast-king.

Because the 42 months as used in Revelation is a "nominal" expression, it is not "exactly" equal to 1260 days.

To help illustrate the difference between "nominal" and "exact" expressions,  2x4 lumber in the U.S. is not actually 2 inches x 4 inches - but 1 1/2 inches x 3 1/2 inches when measured by a rule.      All woodworkers, carpenters, reading this, know what I am speaking of.    2x4 is a "nominal" expression.

So here is what we can do...regarding the 7 years... dividing it up into two 1260 day halves.

first half (1260 days)

1260 days, Revelation 11:3, Revelation 12:6

second half (1260 days)

42 months (1256.5 days + 3 1/2 days), Revelation 13:5, Revelation 11:2

time/times/half time (1260 days +war in heaven time) Revelation 12:14, Daniel 11:25, Daniel 12:7.

By the time-frames, we can therefore arrange events as they take place - to give us a picture of what is going to happen and when.

The war that was prophesied against the saints….

In Daniel 9:26 “And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of "the war" desolations are determined.

Many believe "this war" to be a physical war fought in a certain geographic location off somewhere in the distant future, but "the spiritual war for souls" has been ongoing for a long time now.
 

The "flood" prophesied is the flood of persecution and "lies" that came out of mouth of the serpent (Prince of this world) after Jesus Christ was caught to heaven, and the woman (spiritual Israel) fled into the wilderness as shown in Revelation 12:15“And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as "a flood" after the woman, that he might cause her to be "carried away "of the flood.

In Hebrews 13:9 we are told not to be "carried away" with divers and strange doctrines.

This war on the saints would not only be fought with carnal weapons by men, by the sword, by flame and by captivity; but this war also includes "spiritual warfare" by the Devil.

And it is also prophesied that many of the saints would be overcome and the beast would also prevail against them by this great flood of lies and false doctrine during this time period.

And that is what the Lord meant by desolations were determined unto the end of this war; as the Red Dragon and the beast would "make war" with the saints, and also with the Lamb as is also written.

Prior to the Messiahs first coming it was all the "abominations" that the children of Israel had done that brought forth "the desolation" of the temple mount and Jerusalem in 70 AD.

And it is much the same with the Gentile age and the world today as well. Many would be corrupted, and be "overcome", and lose their garments and "fall away" from the faith, thus making them "desolate" and naked.

We are shown this in Daniel 9:27 “….and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon "the desolate.” (God’s wrath is poured)

Being made "desolate" means they would become unfruitful, or barren of good fruit. As Jesus said we could not bear fruit except we abide in Him (the vine) and in His words. And so many would be "overcome" by the spirit of this world, and by the cares of this world, and by the tribulations of this world and as a result would also "fall away" from the faith. 

Just as this being made desolate by the ways of the world also comes by deception through false teachers as also happened to the children of Israel. 

Jeremiah 12:10 “Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a "desolate" wilderness.”

And this being made desolate is what we also see in the Harlot church system in Revelation 17:16 “And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the *****, and shall make her "desolate" and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.”

So those who would "fall away" by being in bed with the ways of the world would be made "desolate" and naked as shown here in Revelation 3:17 “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:”

Nakedness in scripture symbolizes having your “sins exposed” like with Adam and Eve.
 

This falling away and warning of being made naked is also shown here in Revelation 16:15“Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk "naked", and they see his shame.”

The sign of the kings of the earth eating the harlots flesh and drinking her blood is the opposite reflection of the saints of God eating the flesh of the Lamb and drinking his blood. 

But the harlot’s flesh and blood is fornication and idolatry through covetousness, and the immoral ways of the world “AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH”; which also brings forth the wrath of God being poured out on "the desolate". 

Revelation 17:2 “With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”

This sign of the harlot being made "desolate, naked", burned and eaten was first shown in the false idol the children of Israel had made when Moses went up to the mount. Notice the steps involved after Moses went up to the mount, after the "likeness" of Jesus being caught up to heavenly mount and to God.

First the children of Israel would "corrupt themselves" by false idols Exodus 32:7“And the Lord said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have "corrupted" themselves:”

They would then be made "naked" for shame Exodus 32:25 “And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies”

And then the false idol was first burned and eaten, or drank Exodus 32:20 “And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.”

So the ashes of the false idol were mixed into the waters...

Revelation 17:15 “And he saith unto me, The "waters" which thou sawest, where the ***** sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. (sea of iniquity= Red Sea)

Revelation 18:4 “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her", my people, that ye be not partakers of "her sins", and that ye receive not of her plagues.”

Her wine (blood) of her fornication leads to God’s wrath. Revelation 14:8 “And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of "her fornication".

Plagues (God’s Wrath) shall be poured out upon "the desolate".

Revelation 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the
presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

So this war is not only physical, but spiritual warfare, that wars against the soul...

So be not carried away by the flood of lies and false doctrines of men, which will lead the desolate into captivity and into the hard bondage of sin.

They are beings that can exist in our 4th dimension and higher dimensions of what most would consider the second heaven.   Fallen ones I do not believe have access to the third heaven where the Father is.  The word angel technically is and entity that comes here as a messenger of the God.  The one from the bottomless pit is referred to as the beast...   It's not from the Father, so it can't be called an angel.
